Adobe: CIOs increasing investment in digital workflows
>
The use of digital workflows is clearly on the rise as companies continue with post-pandemic hybrid work arrangements.
According to an report from Adobe (opens in new tab)working with Microsoft and Forbes Insight, two-thirds of Chief Information Officers (CIO) planned to digitize their workplace and introduce office software beyond their current setup.
The report surveyed more than 600 senior executives, which also found that nearly half felt their transition to digitization was unsatisfactory, hence these executives’ desire to continue investing in technology such as online collaboration tools.
Digitization of the workplace
The ongoing digitization in the workplace means an increase in productivity, according to CIOs.
One respondent reasoned that the boost is due to freeing up employees’ time by letting digital processes handle administrative tasks, allowing them to be more productive and creative in their main work.
Another benefit of digitizing workflows is boosting staff morale by increasing their engagement in their work as it becomes less of a hassle for them to get organised.
In fact, CIOs predicted that this would be one of the most likely outcomes of the digitization process at 63%. The result is also a better customer experience, as employees are once again free to do vital work that impacts their customers.
The study found that the biggest business outcome of digitization was improved data analytics and insights, at almost 40%.
A close second was improved revenue opportunities, with Adobe arguing that while ROI may not seem obvious at first when digitizing workflows, “better digital processes can set your business up for success and growth in the future.”
