Rebekah Vardy claims she was ‘FRAMED’: WAG says mole ‘still leaking Rooney stories’

Rebekah Vardy has sensationally claimed she was “tricked in” during the Wagatha Christie affair, months after she lost the high-profile lawsuit.
Ms Vardy sued Coleen Rooney for libel – and lost – after Ms Rooney alleged in October 2019 that Ms Vardy’s social media account leaked stories about her to the press.
In an interview for a new documentary that will examine both sides of the bitter lawsuit, she says: “I wonder how easy it would be to trap someone in such a way that it seems that the only person is who has seen that [leaked Instagram] messages?’
She added, “I find it absolutely unbelievable to this day that she said no one else knew about this.”

At the High Court trial, Ms Steyn said in her judgment in July that it was “probably” that Ms Vardy’s agent, Caroline Watt, “undertook the direct act” of passing information to The Sun.
The judge said: “The evidence clearly shows, in my opinion, that Ms. Vardy was aware of and approved of this conduct, and took an active part in it.”
Ms Vardy, 40, was ordered to pay up to £1.5 million in Ms Rooney’s legal costs after she lost the case.
But Leicester’s wife and English footballer Jamie insists she was not to blame. And in the new documentary series, Vardy vs Rooney: The Wagatha Trial, streaming on Discovery+ from Saturday, Ms Vardy also claims a mole is still leaking Rooney stories to The Sun – which she says also proves her innocence.
“The irony is that ever since I was removed as a follower, there have been big stories about the Rooneys,” she said.
A friend of Ms Vardy ran a story in The Sun earlier this year suggesting that Wayne Rooney would have a ‘chaperone’ when he was away from Ms Rooney, 36, who was working in the US. This aroused suspicion in Mrs. Vardy.

Mother-of-five Ms. Vardy is in combative shape in the documentary, giving an interview dressed head-to-toe in black leather.
At one point she snaps, “I have zero tolerance for this bull****,” and adds, “I find it all really ****ing bizarre.”
She was on holiday in Dubai with her husband when Ms Rooney made the allegations on Twitter and Instagram about the leaks. Mrs. Vardy said, “I felt physically ill at the time. I think it must have been the biggest panic attack. I was totally shocked. What to do? That’s the million dollar question.
“I couldn’t understand why anyone would do that. Why someone would do that, knowing that someone is vulnerable, knowing the impact something like that will have. It’s going to cause a huge storm – a huge storm – and it did.”
She said it was a “surreal” experience to be in court. And referring to a bogus story about a flooded cellar in Mrs Rooney’s new country house in Cheshire – which Mrs Rooney herself posted and used to link the leaks to Mrs Vardy’s story – she said: ‘The first time I read about the flooded basement was online in the Dagpost. I love how I’m blamed for that, unbelievable.
“If I had been selling stories, where are the posts saying ‘give this to The Sun’? “Make sure I get paid for this.” Where are they? There aren’t – because they don’t exist.’

Ms Vardy said Ms Rooney’s legal team must have been ‘desperate’ to bring up her kiss-and-tell story about Peter Andre.
She also reiterates the claim that she has no recollection of seeing a text message from Ms. Watt in which the agent, discussing sales stories about Ms. Rooney, said, “It was me.”
The Supreme Court issued a punitive charge for legal fees, ordering Ms. Vardy to pay 90 percent of Ms. Rooney’s costs.
This was partly because crucial evidence was destroyed after Ms Watt accidentally dropped her phone in the North Sea.
Rebekah Vardy was exposed by fellow footballer’s wife, Coleen Rooney, as the serial leaker of private stories featuring the infamous ‘It’s……. Rebekah Vardy’s account’ message (pictured together at Euro 2016)
The documentary features a text exchange between Ms. Vardy and Ms. Rooney that took place in the minutes after Ms. Rooney made her first accusation against Ms. Vardy online. Mrs. Vardy asks, “Wtf is this?” and Mrs. Rooney says, “You know what it is.” Mrs. Vardy then says, “I’ve NEVER ever given anyone anything about you,” to which Mrs. Rooney responds, “It’s your Instagram.” Mrs. Vardy says, “I’m so disappointed that you think I would. I’m seven months pregnant and you’re trying to trick me.’
A friend of Ms Rooney said yesterday: “The court ruling was absolutely clear on the facts of this case and also on the nature of the evidence Ms Vardy has provided.”
