Everton fans showed their anger at Frank Lampard and his players at Vitality Stadium after seeing their side suffer a miserable 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
Toffees supporters hoped for a reaction after losing 4-1 to the south coast club in the Carabao Cup during the week, but instead saw the opposite, with Everton trailing 2-0 in the first 25 minutes.
As Everton players headed towards visiting fans after the game, security had to step in as supporters staged a confrontational display of anger at Lampard’s side.

A group of fans threw match day shirts back at the players, targeting Alex Iwobi as one of the players.
Jordan Pickford was also able to shrug in disbelief, while Lampard appeared to calm the Everton fans.
During his post-match interview, Coady admitted that the players’ performance was unacceptable.
“Shocking, not good enough,” said the central defender. “They wanted it more. We still have a lot to learn, we have to go back to the drawing board and improve.’
Lampard spoke out about the incident involving fans, claiming there was a ‘misunderstanding’ after Iwobi’s shirt was thrown back on the pitch.
“I think there was a bit of a misunderstanding, Alex [Iwobi] He had some friends that he was concerned about and they were up front with the fans, there was nothing in it, and the players just have to accept that the fans have the right to express their opinion,” he said.

“The fans have a right to be disappointed. They have been here twice this week and have seen poor performance. And before that, we went well and then they see performances that they don’t like.
“So if we are happy that they are happy after Palace, if we are happy that they welcome us, we have to understand that they can express their opinion and that their opinion is correct today.
“It’s not a fun moment, but sometimes you have to suck it up in terms of being humble about the performance not being good enough. So you have to get there and it’s not a time to clap and cheer, we get that. It’s a time to move on and [acknowledge] the fact that they are there and that it wasn’t good enough.’
After a lively start from Bournemouth, Marcus Tavernier put the hosts ahead in the 18th minute before Kieffer Moore doubled the lead seven minutes later.
Bournemouth jumped over Frank Lampard’s side to climb to 13th place in the Premier League
While Everton were looking to make a comeback in the second half, Jaidon Anthony scored Bournemouth’s third in the 69th minute to seal the win.
The Toffees fell to 17th in the league table as the Premier League prepare to break for the World Cup, just one point above Nottingham Forest in the relegation zone.
The tear at the Vitality Stadium marked Everton’s fourth game without a win in all competitions, with nine goals in their last three games.
Despite their strong start to the season defensively, Lampard’s side have again found themselves in a relegation battle after narrowly escaping the fall last season.
