Michelle Heaton couldn’t contain her excitement for her performance with her Liberty X bandmates Jessica Taylor and Kelli Young in Bradford on Saturday.

The singer, 43, took to Instagram to give her fans a behind-the-scenes look at the pop group’s performance at the city’s Broadway mall, where they take the stage to turn on the Christmas lights.

Michelle shared a photo of the three members together, writing, “I’m still pinching myself that at 43 I’m still allowed to be a pop star.”

Michelle was in a good mood as she performed, driving the crowd insane as they danced along to the band’s songs.

Before the concert, the star took to her social media account to share a clip of herself walking up to the stage with Jessica, 42, and Kelli, 40.

All three girls seemed excited as they walked with the canes featured in the video for the band’s 2002 hit Just A Little.

Liberty X was formed by five of the finalists on the 2001 ITV talent show Popstars – Michelle, Jessica, Kelli, Tony Lundon and Kevin Simm – when they failed to make it to the winning group Hear’Say.

They scored eight top 10 singles and released three albums. Tony and Kevin no longer perform with the group.

It comes after Michelle struggled with a crippling alcohol addiction, with bosses at her rehab center warning her she had days to live when she first recovered.

She previously admitted that she hadn’t gone a day without alcohol for three years because she couldn’t stop drinking.

Michelle explained that it wasn’t a “specific event” that got her into rehab, but that she ended up being “locked up on her own, lying and manipulating situations.”

She said of her alcohol abuse: ‘I got really sick, it was a five-year process. About three years it got a little grip on me, I was happy in my addiction.

“Sometimes it’s hard to say you have an addiction because sometimes it feels nice, that’s the reality of it, it’s [alcohol] my friend was in need.

Every feeling, sad, happy, the sun is shining, a party – every excuse. It gripped me very badly.

“My husband and friends tried an intervention to help me kick the habit.

‘I was on the death door, I got a few days’ [to live]. I was so sick that I had lost so much weight, my skin was translucent, my belly was swollen and hard. I was sick, so I could drink more. I would feel happy so I could drink more. It controlled everything I did.’
