Two World War II planes collided in mid-air during the Wings Over Dallas event on Saturday, hurling debris and starting a fire nearby.
Video posted online shows a Boeing B17 Flying Fortress bomber approaching the flight path of a Bell P-63 Kingcobra. Soon, the bomber completely collides with the Kingcobra, causing it to disintegrate as the larger plane crashes into a nearby fireball.
A man who was at the air show said the P-63 was driving to the left at the time and had the B17 in its blind spot so it couldn’t prepare for the impending crash.
Jason Evans, a spokesman for the Dallas Fire Department, told the… Dallas Morning News that the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. over the Dallas Executive Airport.
There are now about 40 fire crews on the scene, according to CNN.
Witnesses say debris is now strewn across Highway 67 in Texas, where firefighters say an active fire broke out.

Footage of the aftermath showed smoke rising over tents at the Dallas festival. Sources say the event was part of the Commemorative Air Force’s show for the Veterans Day weekend.
The Dallas Fire Department does not yet know what the status of the pilot is or if there are any injuries from fallen debris.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
