She explained, “People will still call me Jennifer Lopez. But my official name will be Mrs. Affleck because we’re together. We are husband and wife. I’m proud of that.
‘I don’t mind that… It’s not traditional. There’s no romance in it. It feels like it’s a power move, you know what I mean? I have a lot of control over my own life and destiny and I feel strong as a woman and as a person. I can understand that people have their feelings about it, and that’s good too.
“But if you want to know what I think about it, I just think it’s romantic. It still has tradition and romance to me, and maybe I’m just that kind of girl.”

Reflecting on the early days of their romance, she said, “We were so young and so in love, really carefree, with no children, no attachments. And we just lived our lives, were happy and beyond. It didn’t feel like we had to hide from anyone or be very discreet.
“We just lived out loud and it turned out to really bite us. There was a lot under the surface there, people who didn’t want us to be together, people who didn’t think I was the right person for him.
“I became very wary because I realized they will fillet you. I really wish I could say more. I used to be like that. That’s how I am. But I’ve also learned.’
The on/off couple first dated between 2002 and 2004, and during their 20-year hiatus, Ben married Jennifer Garner, with the couple sharing Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. The couple broke up in 2018 after they tied the knot. 2005.
Meanwhile, Jennifer married Marc Anthony in 2005 and three years later welcomed twins Emme and Max, now 14. They divorced in 2014.
Jennifer talked about her newfound romance with Ben, explaining, “Of course we tried not to go out in public. But I never shied away from the fact that I always felt for me that there was a real love there, a true love there. People in my life know that he was a very, very special person in my life. When we reconnected, those feelings for me were still very real…
‘I don’t know if I recommend this to anyone. Sometimes you grow apart, or you just grow differently. The two of us, we lost each other and found each other. Not to discredit anything between that happened, because all those things were real too. All we ever wanted was some kind of peace in our lives where we really felt that kind of love that you feel when you’re really young and wonder if you can have that again.”
Revealing her initial doubts, she continued: ‘Does it exist? Is it real? All those questions I think everyone has. You go through all these relationships, and you seek and you connect and you disconnect from people, and you think, God, is this exactly what life is? Like a carousel, roller coaster, carnival ride? And then it’s settled. But the journey there is a mystery to everyone.’
Talking was also about politics and doing the right thing, as she explained, “At the beginning of my career, people asked about politics, but I always felt like people didn’t really want to hear from an actor or someone singing pop songs.”

“I didn’t have the confidence and I didn’t want to make a mistake. But you get to a point in your life where you realize that if something is wrong, you say it. If you don’t do something about it, you’re an accomplice. Whether it was children in cages, or children being shot in the street by the police – all these things where it was pretend, what the hell is going on here? When are we lost? So many horrible, ugly attitudes came to light.
“It was really sad because it didn’t have to be political. It was about being a good person, loving your neighbor, all the things that people say they stand for but then don’t practice because someone isn’t the same as them or someone has a different sexual orientation or gender identity or a different race. It’s like, really? Can’t you just do it? You can’t just be yourself and be happy and let someone else be happy too?’
