A sassy woman stole a stolen SUV right under police’s nose while they stopped the driver during a traffic stop.

The next day, police discovered Hannah Warren, 25, in the twice-stolen Nissan SUV. She then led them on a 30-minute chase through a town in rural Ohio that ended with her crashing into a tree with her car and then trying to run away.

She was tasered and arrested by Nelsonville Police, who discovered multiple syringes in her purse, one of which contained methamphetamine, prosecutors said.

It’s not clear if she was a passenger in the stolen car when it was apprehended, but police say she twice attempted to interrupt the arrest of the 26-year-old man they had warrants.

Nelsonville police officers stopped the 2017 Nissan at 7:30 PM on Oct. 29 because the car had a loud exhaust and no lights.

After doing this, they also found out that the car had already been stolen and belonged to a man named Todd Thompson. They thought so too there was an active arrest warrant for his driver Kevin McDonald, 26.

When the police tried to arrest McDonald, Warren tried twice to “make contact” with the detainee and McDonald.

As McDonald was led to their patrol car by an officer, Warren “ran in the driver’s seat (of the SUV) and drove off,” the Athens prosecutor said.

The next day, just before 2 p.m., police responded to a report that the stolen Nissan SUV had been seen near South Akron Avenue in Nelsonville.

Police found Warren in the car near Watkins Street, prosecutors said. According to the Nelsonville Police Department, a man in the car then fled on foot. It is not clear who that man was.

After police approached Warren, who remained in the car, a 30-minute chase through the city ensued.

Finally, Warren crashed the SUV into a tree on Poplar Street, a few miles to the east.

She fled the car on foot but was chased and tasered by an officer before being apprehended.

Warren would have told the officers at the time that she had drugs in her backpack. A search revealed narcotics and syringes, one of which contained methamphetamine, prosecutors said.

Warren was set to appear in court at Athens County Common Pleas at 10 a.m. Monday and was charged with charges including grand theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, criminal assault and vandalism.
