‘Baby Holly’ has emotional reunion with grandmother 40 years after her parents were murdered

A woman known as ‘Baby Holly’ is reunited with her biological grandmother, 40 years after her parents were murdered in the woods.

Holly Marie Clouse, 42, is the daughter of Harold Dean Clouse and Tina Gail Linn, a married teenage couple who disappeared in 1980 after Holly moved from Florida to Texas when Holly wasn’t there yet.

After her parents’ murder, Holly was kidnapped by a group of women wearing white robes and traveling as a religious group. They dropped her off unharmed at an Arizona church and she was happily raised by an adoptive family.

It was only earlier this year that Holly discovered that her biological parents had been brutally murdered.

In an emotional reunion with the family she didn’t know she had, Holly hugged her paternal grandmother—Donna Casasanta, 80—and said, “I love you. Thank you for all your prayers.’

Harold Dean Clouse and Tina Gail Linn met as teenagers. They married when Tina was 15 and pregnant with Holly, and moved to Texas before she was one so that Dean could get a better-paying carpenter job.

“God has kept me safe and protected all these years,” Holly said, hugging her weeping grandmother.

“We never gave up on you,” the older woman said.

For decades, Holly’s family believed they were off-grid with a religious group. Last year, they learned that the couple had been murdered 40 years ago and that their bodies had been dumped in the woods near Houston.

It was the result of a genetic breakthrough in genealogy by a group of scientists seeking to identify a couple known as “The Houston Does,” whose bodies were found by a dog in 1981.

As Holly settles elements of her unknown past with her biological family, her parents’ killers remain unknown – and possibly still at large.

Just months ago, it was discovered that after her parents were murdered, Holly was picked up by a group of white-robed women in a nomadic religious group and left at an Arizona church.

Now a mother of five in Oklahoma, Holly will continue to search with her new relatives for answers about what happened to her parents in the woods.

One day “we will know (what happened) and the suffering will end,” she told Donna.

For forty years, she contacted authorities every year to ask if anyone had used his Social Security number in the hopes that he was still alive, totally unaware that he had been murdered months after he left home.

Earlier this year, Holly’s aunt, Cheryl Clouse, told the DailyMail.com that this is it”an astonishing miracle that we found her.’

“The whole family is so happy and relieved. Our hearts are still healing, but we are so, so glad we found her. And that she is still alive, that she has a family and that she survived. Nothing terrible happened to her. Hallelujah and Amen… we’ve got Holly,” she said.

For years, the family had hoped that Holly’s parents were still alive. Those hopes were fueled by a mysterious interaction in 1981 with a cult member calling herself Sister Susan, several months after the family heard nothing from them.

They believed her because it wasn’t Dean’s first experience with religious groups; years earlier, before he married Tina, he had gone off with a cult for several weeks.

The family hoped for 40 years that all three were still alive. It wasn’t until their bodies were identified last year that they discovered that Dean and Tina had been dead for decades.

‘He was there’ [a cult] before we thought this might be real. We always thought the three of them were somewhere and that they would come home like he always did. When we were told they had been identified, those hopes were dashed. It’s still difficult. The whole family is still healing. It was such a brutal way to pass,” Cheryl said.

Medical examiners had previously examined the bodies when they were unidentified and determined that Dean had been beaten to death and Tina had been strangled.

The Texas Attorney General’s office, with the help of Identifiers International and Family History Detectives — who identified the bodies — began investigating the case.

Their work eventually led them to Holly.

The investigation into the murders of Holly’s biological parents, Tina and Dean Clouse, is ongoing and if anyone has any information about their deaths, please contact the Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit of the Texas Attorney General at coldcaseunit@oag. texas.gov.
