Whose line is it anyway? will begin production on their 12th and final season in January, says longtime star Colin Mochrie

Fans of the long-running improv comedy series Whose Line Is It Anyway? will say goodbye to the beloved show sometime next year.

While the show’s end has not yet been officially announced by The CW Network, one of the show’s stars – Colin Mochrie – revealed the news to fans on Twitter.

The 12th season will begin production in January, while the current 11th season will have four episodes, airing at 9 p.m. ET on The CW Network.

‘Hello everyone. I hope you enjoy the current season of Whose Line. In January we will film our last season. Thanks to everyone for the support over the years,” Mochrie said in a tweet sent Friday morning.

The host of Whose Line Is It Anyway? – Aisha Tyler – quote retweeted Mochrie’s original tweet and added 10 red heart emojis.

None of the other stars of the show, like Wayne Brady or Ryan Stiles, addressed the end of the show.

Whose Line Is It Anyway was created by Mark Leveson and Dan Patterson, which started out as a British radio show before being turned into a British TV series in 1988.

The original show was hosted by Clive Anderson, who would task a rotating group of comedians with performing a number of impromptu sketches.

The original cast included Tony Slattery, Michael McShane, Josie Lawrence and Richard Vranch, with Stiles and Greg Proops in 1989 and Mochrie in 1991.

There is no indication whether the creators and producers are shopping the show to other networks or streaming services.
