They secured a place on next week’s Strictly Come Dancing show on Sunday night after a ‘heated row’ live on the air.

And on Monday, Katya Jones, 33, looked gloomy after arguing with the former footballer, 56, as she headed to dance training, clad in tight leggings and warm torso layers.

The professional dancer dressed herself in the winter cold with a statement FILA hoodie and a blue velvet bomber jacket.

Katya carried her belongings in a large designer bag with wheels and a purple tote bag over her shoulder.

The makeup-free star couldn’t smile when she was picked up by a driver to take her to the dance practice.

It comes after Tony was shocked to land a spot on next week’s Strictly Come Dancing show Sunday night after arguing with his partner live.

The former footballer couldn’t hold back his smile as he hugged his professional partner Katya Jones before lifting her up with joy.

The pair performed a Salsa on Saturday, but it didn’t go to plan and they were at the bottom of the standings.

Nevertheless, Tony and Adam advanced to the next round after they a ‘hot discussion’ during the closing times of Saturday Strict.

Tony had made a series of mistakes during his performance and Katya admitted she yelled at him afterwards.

But as Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly wrapped up the show, Tony could be seen animatedly talking to the professional dancer, holding her back to the camera.

Tony and Katya hoped to improve their highest scores from last week with a Salsa to Pitbull’s “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho).”

Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be, as the judges had some mixed comments about the performance.

Craig Revel Horwood simply told the pair: ‘It didn’t work tonight – it’s a shame’, while Motsi Mabuse struggled to produce a compliment when she uttered: ‘You tried so hard… things go on in life. … pick up your crown, go out and salsa it out!’

Shirley Ballas tried to stay positive by praising Tony’s rotations and ‘fearless’ lifts, but added that it was an ‘absolute shame’ that he was going on the wrong foot and making ‘too many mistakes’.

Speaking to Claudia afterwards, Tony said, “I was too busy having fun!

“The crowd was all gone and it was amazing, then I looked down and thought, ‘Oh baby, what’s going on there?’

“I looked at her face and she said, ‘Oh my god,'” as Katya then confessed to screaming “focus” furiously at the sportsman.

MailOnline has reached out to representatives for Tony, Katya and the BBC for comment.

Week seven’s live show finished with Hamza and Jowita at the top of the standings with 38, while Tony and Katya languished at the bottom with just 21 points out of 40.

Elsewhere, Craig left BBC viewers furious after giving comedian Ellie Taylor and her professional partner Johannes Radebe “harsh” feedback and a low score.

Craig awarded Ellie and her partner Johannes a disappointing three for their Rumba on ‘Alone’ by Heart – despite being at the top of the leaderboard last week.

Commenting on the performance, Craig said, “I actually thought it was a little stiff. It felt like you were just walking around.’

Motsi marked the routine as a seven along with Anton, while Shirley gave the pair a five. It didn’t take long for outraged viewers to question the low results.

Chief judge Shirley said it was “totally lacking in fluidity and flexibility”, adding that she wouldn’t be doing them a “disservice” by spicing things up.

Fans took to Twitter to express their views on Craig’s voice, with one writing: “I normally agree with Craig, but that 3 was unnecessarily harsh.”

Another said: ‘The biggest injustice of the night: Craig gave Ellie a three and Tony Adams scored higher.’

A third wrote: “I’m actually annoyed that Craig Tony scored a 4 and Ellie T a 3.”

One commented: ‘Wow, talk about character assassination, I just saw it on #Strictly done by Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood, neither of them liked Ellie from the start of the show, those voices destroyed her. ‘

“I actually feel sorry for Ellie T. She’s really gutted and a 3 from Craig, didn’t mind too much,” wrote another.

One Twitter user added: “I’ve seen rumbas far worse than that on #Strictly higher than a 3… I feel sorry for #Ellie and #Johannes. Sure, it wasn’t perfect, but I still thought it looked nice. Certainly higher than a 3!’

Many fans were outraged that Craig scored Tony and Katya a four after Ellie’s disappointing three.
