The Block’s Omar and Oz reveal the truth about their relationship with ‘Mr Lambo’

The auctions for The Block are done and dusted, but some fans aren’t convinced it was a fair race.

Omar Slaimankhel and Ozman ‘Oz’ Abu Malik’s record win on the Channel Nine show sparked a bitter social media battle on Sunday.

Fans were divided on whether the Sydney-based friends, both 30, roped in their ‘millionaire friend’ to drive up the price.

During the episode, Adrian Portelli – an online promotion guru with a net worth of $8 million, who arrived at the auction in a flashy yellow Lamborghini, and seemed to know Omar and Oz well.

Adrian saw Omar and Oz and their auctioneer high-five just before he placed a bid.

Omar told Daily Mail Australia on Monday that he was “disappointed” that viewers would accuse him and Oz of bringing in a “dummy bidder” and insisted that they win the match fairly.

“It’s just a shame that Oz and I are doing so well and we’re here justifying our win a day after the auction, that’s all I’m worried about – that a lot of people out there will hate, but that’s what happens.” .’

Omar said the couple met other potential buyers and were surprised that Danny Wallis was interested in their home.

“We had another bidder who loved our house, a beautiful family. We have met the family a few times. So in the end we definitely had the bidders to buy the house.’

“Very surprising that Danny Wallace jumped on it too. We had no idea he would offer. So if Danny Wallace loved your house and some other guys with that kind of wealth, you’re going to have a bidding war.”

Omar then revealed that the couple had met other potential buyers and were surprised that Danny Wallis (right) was interested in their home.

He also rejected claims that they knew they knew Portelli in advance and that he purposely opened the bidding for $4.5 million, which was much higher than the reserve price of $4.08 million.

“Oz and I have had quite a bit of contact with our agents and they said we should contact all of our networks to see who might be able to come to the house and look at it,” he explained.

“We reached out to a mutual friend (Adrian) who said he might be excited. He’s seen the show. He saw our house and he absolutely loved it when he came to see it a few weeks ago.’

Omar explained that Portelli did indeed check out the opposing team’s homes, but was not interested in making an offer.

‘He also saw a few more houses and unfortunately for them he wasn’t interested. I’m pretty sure he went home three or four on auction days.’
