Aaron Carter pulled over in RV on suspicion of DUI

Aaron Carter was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of drink driving after his on-again, off-again girlfriend Melanie Martin “called the police” – and the controversial singer was later acquitted of any wrongdoing.

TMZ reports that the 34-year-old I Want Candy hitmaker was driving a RV in Antelope Valley around 10:45 a.m. when police received a call about a driver who may have been driving under the influence and swinging through traffic.

Officers conducted field tests on the star and it was found not to be intoxicated.

In a bizarre twist, he later locked his keys in the RV with photos of the singer entering the vehicle through the roof hatch to retrieve them.

Martin, 35, was driving behind Carter in a white Range Rover at the time, posting on social media from AV scanner News – which Carter shared – said she had been the one who called the police about him. The couple, who share an 11-month-old son, have endured a notoriously tumultuous relationship.

The message read: “The infamous Antelope Valley resident Aaron Carter had another brush with law enforcement today.

“At about 10:45 a.m., a 911 call was made by Carter’s ‘girlfriend’ that he may have been drunk. Carter’s “girlfriend” drove a white Range Rover as she followed the pop star who drove a campervan.

Deputies responded to the area and eventually executed a traffic stop of the Carter-driven RV at block 43600 of Elena Street in Lancaster. Deputies on the ground have requested a sergeant for a “high profile person” DUI investigation.

TMZ has reported that the welfare claims came on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 20, after fans worried the star might be using drugs off-camera while streaming a live chat on social media.

The screen went black during the online conversation and some fans thought they heard spraying and inhaling in the background.

The singer has previously admitted to having a panting addiction.

Huffing, “means inhaling (or ‘huffing’) fumes from everyday household products, such as glue, cleaning agents or paint — producing a high similar to the effects of alcohol.”

When police and firefighters responded to the musician’s home in Lancaster, California, sources said Aaron didn’t come to the door initially, but when investigators made contact, the singer said he had been asleep.

No drugs were found in the home and there was no evidence of a suicide attempt.

The Fool’s Gold artist, who previously revealed he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and anxiety, claimed online that he was “the troll hunter” and sprayed what appeared to be air freshener. He explained the actions to TMZ as a joke, saying, “I’m tired of people chasing me, so I trolled everyone.”

The incident happened just days after the troubled singer went online and threatened to sue his on-again, off-again girlfriend Martin, who once accused him of domestic violence but later recanted.

Both Aaron and Melanie have lost custody of their son Prince, who is being cared for by his maternal grandmother.

Aaron claimed that he has volunteered to join a month-long outpatient program through Lionrock Recovery so that he can regain custody of the boy.

In an interview with the american sun, he explained: ‘It’s an abstinence program and I work with an individual counselor. I do group therapy, parenting classes, domestic violence classes, I certified myself for CPR, just a lot of different things,” he continued, “It’s new to being a parent, but it’s actually become a lot of fun and exciting and has given me a new chapter of my life. It’s been great.’
