Jake Paul has revealed that his own brother Logan urged him to retire after beating ex-MMA star Anderson Silva for his sixth straight professional win – but he has vowed to keep going as he sets his sights on a title belt.
The YouTuber has defied expectations in his boxing career when he won the Brazilian for one more fight, immediately calling out another former UFC fighter in Nate Diaz – as well as pound-for-pound star Canelo Alvarez.
Paul said after the fight that his brother wanted him to walk away from the sport to leave the world stunned, but insisted this was “just the beginning” for his time as a boxer – he said he was “just it was warming up’.

The YouTuber said Logan told him to ‘leave the world open-mouthed’
“Everything else that happens now is just icing on the cake,” Paul said MMAFight.
“My brother says I should retire and leave the world and people will fall open-mouthed.
“A kid who just went 6-0, beat some of the best MMA fighters and just doesn’t do it anymore. I won’t, but I’ve exceeded my own expectations. I think this is just the beginning, I’m starting to get really good and there are a lot of people I want to beat. I also want to become a champion.’
The Paul brothers, who both came into the public eye thanks to their YouTube presence, have always been close and have remained so after entering the world of boxing – with Paul hailing him as his ‘partner in crime’.
“He gave me a speech in the dressing room,” he added. “I love that man so much and he put it all in perspective of what we achieve together. It’s so great to have a partner in crime, the boy is a genius and he’s such a nice person. I look up to him and he inspires me every day.’

Paul – who defeated Silva by unanimous decision, with two judges awarding him six out of eight rounds – had plans to win ten fights in a row before hanging up his gloves, but now has a newfound energy to compete and wants to be so active stay as next year as possible.
“Originally I said I would go 10-0 and then retire, but now I’m 6-0 and it feels like I’m just warming up. Who knows what will eventually happen. I think I will fight again in the first or second quarter of next year. I would be down, we can make something happen.
‘I’ve had so long off. I’ve trained all year, but the goal of this sport is to go in and actually fight. don’t know [who will be next]i need to talk to nakisa [Bidarian].’
Anderson Silva is the last former MMA star to beat Paul — adding to his list of wins over Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, having already beaten fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib and former basketball star Nate Robinson.
