Leni Klum, 18, defends controversial lingerie shoot with mom Heidi that was called ‘disturbing’

Leni Klum broke her silence about the reaction she got for posing in lingerie with her supermodel mother Heidi for the Italian brand Intimissimi.

When asked about criticism of the campaign by social media users, the 18-year-old, who recently moved from California to New York City to attend college, said it didn’t change how she feels about the photo shoot.

“I honestly haven’t looked at many comments,” she admitted. “Overall I’m happy with the campaign and I had a great day with my mother.”

In addition, she was delighted that she thought “the photos were great” and that she “had a great time.”

Leni insisted she “pays no heed” to negative feedback and is grateful to be allowed to work on a shoot with her mother, whom she described as her “inspiration.”

“Just the advice she gives me, the way she works, everything about her, I can go on,” the teen said. Page six at her mother’s annual Halloween party. “I love shooting with her.”

Earlier this month, Howard Stern called the mother-daughter lingerie campaign inappropriate on his SiriusXM show.

“I looked at it and I thought, ‘This is so f**king’ off the line. It’s so inappropriate. But you can’t keep looking at it,” he said.

The radio and television personality continued: ‘It looks like a man’s’ [personal] fantasy. They kiss and they hold each other. And they are frolicking.’

People on social media also chimed in to say the shoot was “icky,” while one Twitter user wrote, “Sexing your daughter the moment she becomes legal is weird.”

“I wouldn’t model sexy lingerie with my mom,” another tweeted.

However, others pointed out that the campaign was “classy” and that their underwear had more coverage than most bathing suits.

“Her daughter is 18…legally…they are both GORGEOUS and the only reason for the negative comments is 100% pure jealousy!” wrote a fan of the duo on Instagram.

The Intimissimi campaign was directed by Hayo in Los Angeles and launched on October 10.

Leni’s biological father is Heidi’s ex, Flavio Briatore. Singer Seal, however, legally adopted her in 2009 after she tied the knot with the Making The Cut star in 2005.

After nearly seven years of marriage, Heidi filed for divorce in 2012, which was finalized two years later in 2014.

Her daughter has followed in her mother’s footsteps and has made a name for herself in the modeling world.

She recently starred in a new magazine cover for Hunger and was featured in Vogue Germany and Glamor Germany, and walked last month at Milan Fashion Week.

The social media personality, who has 1.5 million followers on Instagram, recently left her home to move to New York City to begin her freshman year of college.

Heidi discussed her feelings about being far away from her daughter during a recent interview on The Late Late Show With James Cordon.

“It’s so sad,” the America’s Got Talent jury admitted. “She just moved in this weekend and I’m calling her. Normally she answers, but then I don’t hear anything for three or four hours.’

‘And already my head goes ‘Where is she? What is she doing? Why doesn’t she answer?’ The worries are already starting,” Heidi revealed.

The supermodel stated that she called Leni every two hours at one point. “Now I want the roommate’s number so I can eavesdrop on the roommate if she doesn’t answer,” Heidi said humorously.

During an interview with Extra TV last year, Leni discussed a modeling tip she got from her mother, Heidi, when she started in the industry.

“She always tells me to have fun, and she always says, ‘Bounce around, be fun, be energetic, be excited,'” the star explained.

The media personality also explained that while both her mother and herself enjoy the modeling and fashion industry, their style choices are quite the opposite.

“She calls it grungy,” Leni said, talking about how Heidi sees her own personal fashion. “I just call it oversized… never catch me in super tight jeans, because I don’t like wearing things that are uncomfortable.”
