Michael Douglas swaps grey hair for long auburn locks

Michael Douglas has long been considered a kind of silver fox.

But the famed Hollywood movie star, 78, who is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, has shocked his fans after swapping his sleek gray locks for longer auburn hair.

It’s unknown if the transformation is permanent, but his fans seemed unconvinced about his new look and hoped it was just for a movie role.

Michael made no reference to the new look when he first showed it off in a new video posted to Instagram on Saturday.

Posing from a balcony in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower visible in the background, his hair was held in place with a baseball cap.

He just said, ‘Hey guys! Happy #TGIF! Have a good one! Lots of love! MD.’

While many fans used the comments to tell him how much they love him and think he’s handsome, others were quite livid about his auburn hair.

They wrote: ‘Sorry Michael, the hair makes you look older, not to mention the wrinkles. Dye your hair gray again and get it cut.

‘Men – go figure. MD has beautiful hair for a man his age, and looked handsome by nature silver – you don’t look younger with red hair, just strange?

“That said, your head, your hair, your weird color scheme.”

“Your dyed red hair looks awful. You look good with gray hair. I hope the dyed hair was for a movie or TV role you’re filming.”
