Katie Piper escaped this week on a luxury spa vacation with her husband Richard and shared a series of photos on her Instagram page.

The model and activist posted selfies with Richard from their two-night stay at the Glass House Retreat in Essex, posing in a swimsuit as she gushed that she “hadn’t relaxed this much in years.”

Last month it was announced that police have launched an international manhunt for Stefan Sylvestre, Katie’s acid attacker, who fled abroad after being recalled to prison.

A radiant Katie hugged her husband in her snaps as the two relaxed by the pool.

The mum of two revealed it was a kid-free vacation for the couple, telling her Instagram followers: ‘The kids went to grandmas and we went to RETREAT! A two night stay @glasshouseretreat was great.’

‘I haven’t relaxed this much in years. Plant-based food, quiet rooms, walks, bike hire, treatments and as much or as little exercise as you want. I even read a book!’

Katie has continued her work, covering the early morning show on Radio 2 and appearing at the Pride of Britain awards last week during a turbulent period.

On October 11, it was confirmed that police had launched an international manhunt for her acid attacker and warned people not to approach the criminal.

Stefan Sylvestre, from Shepherd’s Bush, west London, has been recalled to prison but Scotland Yard has revealed he left the country in August.

Sylvestre was sentenced to life in prison in 2009 for the attack in which Katie, then 24, suffered horrific injuries.

He was sentenced to life with a minimum of six years and was eligible for parole in 2015. At the time, he was deemed unfit for release, but a new application in 2018 was successful and he was released at age 30, but was ordered to stay away from Katie. .

Sylvestre has now been recalled to jail again, warning that he will have to endure more time behind bars after going missing. But now the Met Police has revealed that the criminal left the country on Tuesday, August 2.

Officers from the Met Specialist Crime Command are conducting an investigation into his whereabouts, along with partner agencies believed to be the National Crime Agency, the Mirror reports.

Scotland Yard has made a request for information to locate Sylvestre.

Daniel Lynch was sentenced to life with a minimum of 16 years for sexually abusing Katie and telling Sylvestre to throw acid at her in 2008. He will not be eligible for parole until 2025.
