NFL quarterback Drake Maye announces his engagement to childhood sweetheart

New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye has announced his engagement to high school sweetheart Ann Michael Hudson.

The pair have been dating for nine years and shared the news on their Instagram accounts.

‘I love living with you. I can’t wait to marry you!,” the quarterback wrote in his post.

The couple celebrated their nine-year anniversary at the end of October. Hudson marked the occasion with a slideshow on her Insta account.

“9 years with you and it gets better every day,” Hudson’s caption read with a heart emoji. “I couldn’t imagine my life without you as my best friend. I love you more than you know!’

Maye and Hudson both met in high school, started dating then and through high school, and even attended the same college: the University of North Carolina.

According to her LinkedIn page, Hudson is currently a double major at Chapel Hill, where she studies entrepreneurship and conflict management.

Meanwhile, Maye left UNC after just three years there for the NFL, where he was selected third overall by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft.

After then-head coach Jerod Mayo opted for veteran Jacoby Brissett under center for the first few games of the season, Mayo ultimately handed the reins of the offense to Maye.

Maye compiled a 3-9 record while leading New England’s struggling and undersized offense, which lacked skill at most key positions.

He finished his rookie campaign playing 12 games, completing 225 of 338 passes for 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns and ten interceptions.
