Hidden detail in Kate and William’s cash that shows up Harry and Meghan, and impresario’s blast at A-list luvvie that’s got everyone talking: ‘He should know better’: EDEN CONFIDENTIAL

Their respective new years could hardly have begun in a more contrasting manner.

Here, the Princess of Wales has been welcomed to London’s Royal Marsden Hospital by both patients and staff who successfully treated Catherine for cancer.

In California, on the other hand, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been brutally mocked as ‘disaster tourists’ after distributing food to victims of the Los Angeles fire.

Now I can reveal that the widening rift between the two couples is unflinchingly highlighted by the fate of their respective foundations.

The Earthshot Prize – established in 2019 by Prince William to find solutions to ‘some of the world’s biggest environmental problems’ – has just published its annual report which shows it’s going gangbusters.

The uninitiated could be forgiven for missing this, given that Earthshot’s total revenues for the year were only a relatively modest four percent increase, at £23.5 million.

But this ignores the fact that no less than £8.6 million of the £22.5 million raised the previous year was a one-off donation from The Royal Foundation, set up by William and Harry in 2009 to support their various charitable ambitions. to achieve.

This year there was no such donation for the Earthshot, which was spun off from the Royal Foundation in 2022 to be run as a completely separate charity. The underlying income from donations increased by no less than 68 percent.

The founders gave £14.4 million. But perhaps even more intriguing is the contribution of The American Friends of The Royal Foundation or The Prince and Princess of Wales.

It has more than doubled to £6.1 million, compared to £2.7 million last year.

To put that into perspective, Meghan and Harry have raised a total of £4.67 million from all sources for their Archewell Foundation.

The Duchess is here to serve

The Duchess of Edinburgh doesn’t turn 60 until Monday, but she couldn’t wait to get the party started.

Sophie was served an orange birthday cake at The Company Shop in Lambeth, South London yesterday during an engagement.

The community center offers competitively priced meals to residents and free meals to children during the school holidays. She rolled up her sleeves and served food to locals in the center’s canteen.

Before her husband, Prince Edward, turned 60 last March, Sophie gave a rare, deeply personal speech in Leeds, calling him ‘The best father and the most loving husband’.

Queen of Mean is back at the age of 80

Anne Robinson quit as host of The Weakest Link in 2011, but the Queen of Mean is making a comeback, for one night only.

She will present a live edition of the BBC quiz this Saturday at the Barn Theater in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

“It’s helping to get my village school, Hatherop Primary, out of its leaky prefab classrooms and into a real building,” she tells me. “It’s sold out.”

Participants include Queen Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles, former jockey Willie Carson and news presenter Kay Burley.

Robinson, 80, jokingly adds of her return: “I’ve doubled my Pilates classes and am training to stand up straight.”

Robbie attacks Oasis

Robbie Williams, who is played by a CGI monkey in new biopic Better Man, has reignited his feud with the Gallaghers.

‘When it comes to Oasis, they are the poster children [sic] of bullies,” explains the former Take That singer. “Whether Noel and Liam know it or not, whether they like to understand or care, they gave every bully at school permission to group together and still be bullies by the way they acted and behaved.

‘Liam has evolved and softened enormously. But Noel, still in this aspect of his life, remains uneducated when it comes to being unnecessarily cold, malicious and unkind.”

A spokesperson for the Gallaghers declined to comment.

Tennant gets a notification

Labor enthusiast David Tennant has been reprimanded by theaterland impresario Sir Cameron Mackintosh for expressing his ignorant views on West End ticket prices.

“You get a lot of quite naive famous actors talking about this and that,” says the producer. ‘. . . He should know better.’
