- Cross Section has sold out of its viral NYC chicken Caesar wrap
Hundreds of diners flock to a little-known sandwich shop in Sydney every week to get their hands on a viral menu item from New York City.
Every day at lunchtime there are huge queues outside Cross Section in Darlinghurst, with customers waiting to get their hands on the sold out chicken Caesar wrap.
For $17 each, the gourmet wraps are filled to the brim with shredded chicken, croutons, mixed leaves, Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing.
And fans can’t get enough of it, with many saying they haven’t been able to order one because the wildly popular menu item always sells out before 1 p.m.
A Cross Section employee urged guests to arrive early so they don’t miss anything.
“We are doing our best,” the employee said on social media to one of his customers.
“Only the three of us can prepare for a certain amount of money. Try to come earlier.’
The cafe is open during the week from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The doors are closed every Sunday.

Meanwhile, many guests who have visited the store are obsessed with the other menu items, including the sandwiches and coffee.
One customer left a glowing five-star review on Google, saying: ‘I can’t say enough good things about this place – it’s an absolute treasure. Let me tell you: the real magic happens with their sandwiches and coffee. The sandwiches are next level: every bite is an explosion of flavor.
‘The bread is fresh and perfectly baked, with a wonderful crunch on the outside and a soft fluffy on the inside. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and carefully combined, creating layers of flavors that are simply unforgettable.
‘And then there’s the coffee. Wow. I’ve had coffee at some amazing places, but nothing compares to what they serve here. It is rich, smooth and perfectly balanced. It’s clear they put care into every cup, from selecting the beans to the precise way it’s brewed. Whether you’re looking for a silky flat white, a bold espresso or something indulgent, they’ve definitely nailed it.
‘If you’re looking for the best sandwiches and coffee in town, look no further: this place sets the gold standard. I’m already counting down the days until my next visit.’
