Inside Chris Hemsworth’s lavish new home gym at his sprawling $50million Byron Bay estate: ‘It’s definitely next level’

There’s no doubt that Australian men love their shed, but Chris Hemsworth’s idea of the Australian base is a little different.

The Thor star, 41, has created a state-of-the-art training center called The Shed for his fitness brand Centr.

Chris founded the subscription-based fitness app in 2019, which offers content such as workouts, meditation, diets and recipes.

The app costs $135 per year or $29 per month.

In March 2022, Centr was acquired by a private equity firm owned by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos’ brother, but Hemsworth continues to be featured in most training and promotions.

Speak with Realty.com.au, Hemsworth’s personal trainer and business partner, Luke Zocchi, explained that the facility serves as a space for Centr trainers to test new workouts and equipment while having fun.

He emphasized that no expense was spared in creating the state-of-the-art facility designed by Hemsworth and his team.

“It’s definitely next level,” Zocchi said.

“Chris made sure the gym had the latest and greatest Centr equipment.”

He said much of the equipment in The Shed, including treadmills, cable machines, weight benches and strength racks, is not currently available in Australia.

“Some of the equipment is not yet available in Australia, but will be available soon,” Zocchi revealed.

‘It’s where Chris, the boys and I can come along for a session, or we can just relax and recover when we need to. It’s a place to really get after it or reset, depending on what we need.”

The impressive ‘home gym’ also features dedicated areas for agility training and plyometrics, as well as a sauna and ice baths for post-workout recovery.

Hemsworth took his YouTube channel last November to give fans a glimpse of his swanky new workout space.

The video showed Hemsworth, Zocchi and assistant ‘Azza’ putting the new gym to the test.

“So in the spirit of the holidays, Centr and I decided to give you this space as a gift,” Chris told the trainers.

“I wanted to give it to you as a gift… this is the official one-stop shop for shredding.”

The Shed is the latest addition to Hemsworth’s sprawling 4.2-acre estate, which he and his wife Elsa Pataky purchased in 2014 for $7 million.

The couple proceeded to demolish the existing eight-bedroom home to begin construction on their $50 million mega-mansion in 2017.

The property, which will take two years to complete, features six bedrooms, a spa, games and media rooms and extensive outdoor areas.

The couple live in the property with daughter India, 12, and twins Sasha and Tristan, 10.

The reveal of Chris’ gym comes after he was honored by the Australian Reptile Park, with a huge new discovery named after the actor.

The funnel-web spider, one of the deadliest species in the world, was donated to a drop-off center in Newcastle, the park announced in a statement on Tuesday.

“This spider was so big compared to its peers that it reminded me of Chris Hemsworth and his brothers, and how they tower over the average human,” said spider keeper Emma Teni.

“We thought for sure it had to be a female because of its size, but on closer inspection it’s a boy.”

The oversized specimen, known as one of the world’s deadliest spiders, measured 9.2cm in length and is the largest spider ever donated to the Central Coast park.

‘Hemsworth’ will be part of the park’s anti-poison program,” Teni said.
