The Traitors winner Meryl Williams is forced to hide in a train toilet after cruel yobs ‘laughed in her face’ and mocked her dwarfism while fellow passengers ‘did nothing’
The Traitors winner Meryl Williams says she had to hide in a toilet after being targeted by feral teenagers on a train to London.
Williams, who was born with dwarfism, won a share of the BBC show’s £101,050 cash prize after appearing in the first series in 2022.
And she admitted she was an ‘easy target’ for a gang of four youths on a recent trip to London – after recently admitting she had only just gained the confidence to travel by train.
Addressing TikTok followers on Monday, Williams, 28, admitted that she had retreated to a nearby toilet in an attempt to escape their verbal abuse.
“Living with this condition is something you can’t hide,” she explained. ‘People see you immediately; they notice you right away, you’re just an easy target.
‘I got on the train, they sat opposite me because I sit on the seats with tables, and so far they have said that I need stairs to get on the train, I am a dwarf, they have watched dwarfs throw , they took videos of me, they took pictures of me, they said I have sausage fingers, and they laughed at me.”

Williams, who was born with dwarfism, won a share of the BBC show’s £101,050 cash prize alongside Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski after appearing in the first series in 2022.
The Scottish influencer admitted she stayed in the toilet until they left the train, and condemned fellow passengers for not getting on.
She added: “This all happens in the space of ten minutes. I’m on my own now. Everyone around me witnessed this, heard this and no one said anything. I don’t know what to do.
‘So I thought, I know they got off at Durham, and they got off at Newcastle, so if you know these people, let me know, four teenagers… so I’ll wait in the toilet until the stop in Durham, then I’m going outside.’
Williams has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, which affects the growth of cartilage and can lead to a larger forehead.
After winning season one of the hit BBC show as Faithful with Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski, she used her share of the £33,000 prize money on surgery.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline last January, Williams said she was shocked by the initial results as it looked like she had ‘had a fight’ and admitted she had ‘gone into hiding’ while she recovered.
She approached a surgeon at London’s Harley Street Specialist Hospital in February last year and after two phone calls, a Zoom call and one in-person appointment, Meryl went under the knife for two hours in July.
Having ‘always hated’ her forehead, she used to style bangs growing up in an attempt to hide, before raising the money to go under the knife.

The procedure involved removing the top part of her forehead and then lifting her scalp and moving it forward.
Speaking about the recovery, Williams said: ‘I really looked like I’d been in a fight. I went into hiding for about a month and didn’t leave because it was yellowish and also the bruises.
‘It looked a lot worse than it was and people thought I was in a lot more pain than I was.
‘Then I started noticing the hair loss, obviously when you cut along the hairline the hair falls out. I was lucky it grew back.”
Although she’s glad she did it, Williams admitted she wouldn’t want to do it again, explaining, “It’s not for the faint of heart!”
‘But it was still the best decision and I’m so glad I did it. I’m glad I just got rid of it. It’s something I wouldn’t want to experience again.’
