How to get two years of free EV driving: the charger deal you need to know about
- EDF is offering existing and new customers £300 credit on a charger/tariff bundle
Electric car owners can now get a home charger deal worth almost two years of free driving.
EDF Energy is offering customers – new or existing – £300 when they sign up for the Pod Point Plug & Power home charger and tariff bundle.
The £300 credit received is good for approximately 20,000 kilometers of electric driving – almost 24 months of free travel.
In addition to this discount, the savings made by charging an electric car at home can greatly reduce the running costs of a car.
Charging at home already makes electric cars cheaper per mile than petrol cars, but smart charging, which the Pod Point charger offers, could see home charging savings of more than £1,300 a year, new research has found.
Rich Hughes, retail director at EDF, said: ‘By spreading the cost of a charger over two years we are already making it easier for customers to manage the typically high upfront costs.
‘Now, with an additional £300 back on sign-up, the cost is even lower.’
