Tori Spelling’s chaotic evacuation story as she flees LA fires in an SUV with her five kids and pets

Tori Spelling shared an emotional and moving account of her family’s evacuation amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old 90210 star got to work on Friday Instagram to share photos of herself, her son Beau, seven, and their German Shepherd enjoying the outdoors as she recalls the horrific moment she had to escape the Kenneth Fire.

In the heartbreaking post, Tori admitted that she had been avoiding addressing the fires on social media because she felt like the space was already filled with “amazing kindness, sad loss, helpful messages and pleas.”

But when she and her five children were forced to evacuate their Woodland Hills rental home, she could no longer remain silent.

“the post I didn’t want to do… days of watching destruction and monitoring and living in fear,” she wrote in the lengthy caption. “I didn’t post or share because social media was saturated. amazing kindness, sad loss, helpful sharing and supplication. I didn’t want to be redundant.

‘But we were evacuated last night. I did my best to hold on and not just run for the sake of running away, but we finally did. My heart is with everyone who has lost and suffered so much. But as a mama bear with five children and fur babies, your gut tells you when it’s time to take action.”

The Dancing with the Stars alum also revealed that despite being encouraged by friends to evacuate early, she didn’t take immediate action – which she now regrets, and urges others not to make the same mistake.

She continued, “And all the great apps and LIVES that have kept us informed. In an SUV, me and 5 children, 3 large dogs, 1 cat and a ferret left unplanned. Friends who care told me for days to pack and have a plan. I should have listened.’

The star then revealed that she, her children and furry friends fled the area with no idea where to go, but a friend with connections to Airbnb got them into temporary housing.

Tori added, “I can barely fit in there. No clothes. But grabbed photo albums. And fled. In an unplanned panic, I contacted my friend I recently made Jami Schwartz. She had said during Iheart jingle ball in December that she works with @airbnb. I knew it was a long shot, but when I drove my kids onto 101 N without a plan, they responded! @airbnb saved us!

‘Literal! They stepped in and found something to accommodate our huge family and pets, the same night. Jami and Taylor, I will be forever grateful! With terrified children and one with terrible asthma…I drove.”

Tori described the intimidating journey, recalling how her children questioned her decision-making at that moment as he seemed to drive straight into the inferno.

As smoke seeped through the vents of their car, Tori urged her children to cover their faces before driving her family to safety.

She said: ‘My kids said, ‘Mom. Are you sure we should go this way? Highway is at a standstill in the other direction. We’re going straight into the fires.”

‘We were indeed. Maternal instinct took over and I continued north on the 101. As we literally drove through and the smoke came through the car vents…I told my kids to take deep breaths, hold on, and T-shirts had to pull over their nose and mouth.’

Thanks to Tori’s connections at Airbnb, she and her children found a place to stay that Tori described as one with a koi pond and a monarch butterfly sanctuary.

She added, “But while we were on the road, @taylorgandy stayed with us with @airbnb. My daughter Stella texted him while I drove. One spot became available. Taylor and wonderful owners of our current #airbnb connected. We are safe.

‘Wake up to a koi pond and a monarch butterfly sanctuary. Thanks dad! #synchronicity,” Tori wrapped the post, thanking her late father, TV producer Aaron Spelling.
