John Mayer leaves fans ‘heartbroken’ with emotional post about loss amid LA wildfires
John Mayer has left fans in tears after he… sincere message about the wildfires currently ravaging the Los Angeles area.
At least 10 people were killed as catastrophic fires tore through Los Angeles for a fourth day in a row as police carried out a series of looting and arson.
Apocalyptic fires swept through the upscale enclave of Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, quickly spreading to surrounding suburbs as a storm carried embers and debris in all directions.
Residents fled their homes as news began to trickle in that entire streets had been wiped off the map and fire hydrants were running dry.
There are currently several fires burning in the area, including The Palisades Fire and The Eaton Fire
Many celebrities, such as Paris Hilton and Ricki Lake, have seen their homes burned to the ground and are facing devastating loss.
On Friday, Mayer, 47, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a heartfelt message about the loss and devastation — and snapped a photo of the most valuable thing he owns.
‘This is the most valuable thing I own. It’s a folder of photos of my father, covering his life: from baby to educator, husband and father,” he wrote, sharing a photo of the small paper folder.

“It’s the only evidence of his life that will survive over time. These are the ‘documents’ you read about people taking things from their homes. When you hear someone say they lost everything in a fire, this is a big part of that, if not all of it,” the Last Train Home singer continued.
“Those who say it will be fine still have their folders and their albums. Those who are inconsolable are lost. Just behind the immeasurable loss of life is the loss of evidence of life. I don’t practice prayer, but tonight I will say one for anyone who no longer has these items. It’s not about the art and the collectibles. It is the photos, the letters, the class rings, the glasses and the things we keep to remind us that the ones we loved were here,” his post read.
“May those who have lost so much find some semblance of hope and support among their family and friends. Stay safe, take care of yourselves and each other, and trust that humanity and all that it entails, although sometimes difficult to see, is alive and well. This is truly devastating.”
Mayer’s moving message seems to have really touched the hearts of many X users, as they wrote him some as emotional responses to his vulnerable post.
‘It’s terrible what happened. Thank you for your kind words to those affected by the fires John. Losing all their heirlooms and personal photos of their loved ones will be incredibly difficult to cope with,” one person wrote.
Another agreed: ‘Beautiful and heartfelt words…the losses of such precious items will haunt these devastated people for years to come. The loss is incalculable.’
“This whole post was a prayer and it was beautiful,” someone else wrote.
Another wrote, “Learning this lesson is hard, especially when a traumatic event occurs. I pray for the restoration of hope in such devastation. Money is certainly not what it’s about. It is about God, humanity, family and neighbors. God bless all these victims.”
