Bournemouth full-back Max Aarons is in talks to join Valencia on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent for £7.5 million.

Mail Sport revealed this week that the former England U21 international could leave amid interest from foreign clubs, including LaLiga strugglers Valencia.

Talks have accelerated in the past 48 hours and an agreement is now close.

The full-back, who joined the Cherries in 2023, has seen his first-team opportunities limited under Andoni Iraola this season, making just three appearances so far, including just one start.

And the Premier League club are willing to let the right-back leave the club in January.

Clubs in France, Italy and Spain had initially expressed interest in the 25-year-old. Ligue 1 club Lille was also among the interested teams.

Aarons joined from Norwich in 2023 with a reputation as one of the best emerging full-backs in English football.

But his career has stalled on the south coast this season and a move to secure more regular first-team football could benefit all parties.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, are exploring a move for Paraguayan striker Alex Arce, while midfielder Philip Billing is completing a move to Napoli.

The deal for the Danish midfielder includes an option to buy the 28-year-old for £9 million.
