Suspect arrested in killing of Wisconsin woman and 2 girls

NEW LISBON, Wis. — Authorities said Thursday they had captured a man wanted for the murders of a Wisconsin woman and two girls.

The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook that the suspect was arrested Thursday. It did not specify how or where, but it did note that there was an “increased law enforcement presence” in Elroy, a small town about 12 miles from New Lisbon, where the killings took place. No further details about the arrest were given, but that would happen later.

Elizabeth Kolba, 33, and two girls, ages 12 and 13, were found shot to death in a New Lisbon home on December 30. The suspect knew the victims, according to a criminal complaint.

Local law enforcement had been searching for the suspect since the murders with the help of the FBI and federal marshals.
