A new Adventure Time comic series returns to the land of Ooo

Finn the Human, Jake the Dog and the rest of their friends return to comics in April when a new one is released Adventure time series begins – seven years after the old comic series ended in 2018.

The comic series will have new issues every month, with rotating artists and writers, including but not limited to Nick Winn (Bloody Mary), Caroline Cash (PeePee PooPoe), Asia Simone (Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: Wreck and Roll), Jorge Monlongo (Over the garden wall: Hallow Town), Brenda Hickey (My Little Pony) and former Adventure Time writer and storyboard artist Derek Ballard. The first issue comes from Winn and begins a storyline called The best of Buds.

“Adventure time was such a big part of my childhood,” Winn said in a press release. “Not only was it hilarious, but it had such emotional intelligence that very few shows could have happened at the time. Being able to revisit the Land of Ooo through Oni Press has honestly been so much fun and a challenge to build something new while still maintaining the energy and charm that the show brought to me in high school!

Adventure Time (2025) #1 will be available on April 9.
