Biden, 82, reveals how he would have BEAT Trump in election… but makes surprise concession

Joe Biden still thinks he was a better choice to lead Democrats through the 2024 elections than Vice President Kamala Harris.

The chairman told USA Today that he would have won re-election in a rematch against Donald Trump.

Biden, 82, acknowledged that his age was an issue, even admitting that he’s not so sure how the four years would go after he wins this hypothetical second term.

“So far so good,” he said. “But who knows what I’ll become when I’m 86 years old?”

In late July, Biden reluctantly ended his re-election bid and backed his No. 2 candidate to carry Democrats across the finish line in November. But Harris, who has never won a primary, failed to gain support and lost to Trump in historic fashion — even losing each of the seven swing states.

Biden said in his exit interview about his only term as president that if he had stayed in the race, he likely would have defeated Trump again.

“It’s presumptuous to say that, but I think so,” Biden claimed, citing polls he reviewed.

However, when asked whether he had the strength to stay in office for another four years, he was less confident.

“I don’t know,” he replied. “Who the hell knows?”

Biden is the oldest president ever elected. He will take office in January 2021 at the age of 78 and will end his term of office at the age of 82.

However, a now 78-year-old Trump will better that record with his second, non-consecutive victory and will be sworn in later this month, a few months older than Biden was when he took the oath of office.

Democratic Rep. Susan Wild (D-Pa.) told CNN Wednesday morning after Biden’s interview was published that the latest comments do not move the party forward.

“That line wouldn’t have helped Democrats,” the outgoing Pennsylvania lawmaker claimed. “The age issue, the competency issue, those debate performances, those were all huge mitigating factors against Joe Biden.”

Despite Trump and Biden’s advanced ages, there were many more concerns about the current president’s mental acuity and suitability for the world’s toughest job.

That was on full display during the duo’s first and only debate in June, where Biden stumbled, mumbled and at times completely froze or lost his train of thought. Trump walked away a clear and triumphant winner.

Democratic leaders were immediately concerned that Trump would destroy Biden in the November election based on their head-to-head performance on the debate stage. They included former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who urged him to withdraw from the race.

It is highly unprecedented for a presumptive presidential candidate who won the primaries to quit so late in the campaign. And there was outrage from Democratic voters who did not want to see Harris elevated to the nomination, and from those who demanded an expedited primary to replace Biden.

But no such contest took place, and Harris was officially nominated at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois, in August.

Biden said he never planned to run for president after the death of his son Beau from brain cancer in 2015, as the president was then completing his second term as Barack Obama’s vice president.

“I wasn’t going to run after Beau died — really, no joke,” Biden told USA Today.

But he said, “when Trump ran for re-election again in 2020, I really thought I had the best chance of beating him.”

“But I also didn’t plan on being president when I was 85 years old, 86 years old,” he admitted. “And so I’ve been talking about passing the baton” to the next generation.
