Online grocery customers spark gender war after slamming male shoppers

If you’re short on time, placing a grocery order online can take some of the stress out of going to the store unless a man is filling your order.

Shoppers have taken to social media in droves to share their distaste for male shoppers when ordering groceries online.

“I’m starting a new game show on TikTok called Guess the Gender of My Instacart Shopper,” user Gabi DaiagI shared in a clip.

She then revealed what her male customer had purchased after ordering six bananas, with six bunches instead.

“Please send me some recipes,” she joked. ‘Because I’m going to eat bananas for days.’

Another user, Sammi Ellen Clarealso took to the app to share her shopping woes.

‘I beg you to update your app so that I can request a female shopper. That will be necessary,” she said urgently in the video.

Sammi then explained that she ordered five items, only one of which was the item she actually ordered.

The disappointed customer had ordered a half-liter bottle of store milk, but was given a quarter of it.

She then ordered a chopped Caesar salad package and received an Ultimate Caesar salad package, although she admitted she was expecting that mix.

“You have to look a little harder for the chopped Caesar salad package, and a man would never do that, he would just choose the one he sees first,” she raged.

The next mistake was Mozerella beads, but got a block of wood instead. “Again, because you have to look a little harder for the pearls, so why would he ever do that,” Sammi joked.

The next item was Land O Lake spread with garlic and herbs, but got butter with canola oil instead.

“I messaged him and said, ‘Hey, can’t you replace that and pay me back if you can’t find the garlic and herb,’” she said as she held up the butter barrel in defeat.

The only item her customer purchased correctly was the Italian seasoning.

“Yes,” Sammi said, looking at her groceries. “I need that update where you can request a woman because this is fucking annoying.”

Another user, Sammi Ellen Clare, also used the app to share her shopping woes.

Sammi added that she filed a complaint and received a full refund.

“I cringe every time I know a man is shopping for me,” another female shopper declared in a video shared online.

‘Cause even though my Sam’s Club said they had imitation crab legs, the only thing my driver bought was back [garlic butter] and herbs,” user Andrea raged.

‘What should I do with that?’ she raged. “So now I have to go to Sam’s Club and get the imitation crab legs that were there all along.”

Customers shared their own experiences, with many agreeing that they didn’t always get what they wanted with male shoppers.

‘I ordered tampons and was replaced with white mushrooms. I’ve been telling this story for four years because I’m still not over it,” one user raged.

“They send me a picture of the aisle several times now and say, ‘It’s not available.’ I took a screenshot, sent it back with the circled item and said, “It’s there.” One time it was DEAD CENTER,” another complained.

One male shopper admitted that he has to pay extra attention while shopping, much to the surprise of many customers.

“I’ve been using Instacart for a few months now and the comment I regularly get is that I did surprisingly well for a male shopper,” one shopper wrote in a post on Reddit.

“Like thanks lol? I know there’s always a stigma about men not being able to shop and when I see those videos I roll my eyes, lmao. But I totally understand, although I feel like there are a fair number of guys out there who just don’t know how to do grocery shopping.

“I understand the frustration because it gets to the point, dude, come on man, you’re in your 30s and you don’t know how to do real shopping? Embarrassed to buy feminine products? Let’s be serious lol,” he wrote.

However, the Reddit user may be a rarity, with irate customers taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their irritation.

“I’m so tired of people acting slow and not understanding why male Instacart shoppers are the worst. THEY ARE INCOMPETENT AS HELL,” someone raged.

“I’m sorry but I’m STOP ordering my groceries from Instacart and Uber Eats because of male shoppers,” another revealed. ‘I never get what I paid for and they don’t follow directions. I end up having to go to the store and spend double my money. I hate to make it about sex, but… it’s horrible.’

DailyMail.com has contacted Instacart, Doordash and Uber Eats for comment.
