Divisive Netflix star reveals why he dramatically quit hit reality show

Owner of Manhattan star Jonathan Nørmølle has officially quit the Netflix real estate show after one season, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The television personality and entrepreneur, 27, said he no longer needs the fame of the series, which was renewed for a second chapter in August.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, he confirmed: ‘I have officially said no to season two.’

Explaining why he decided to stop appearing in episodes, Jonathan said the editing posed a risk – and that he doesn’t want to be known as a reality TV star.

“The people that I have now and that I work with now, and the brands that I work with now, they’re not going to give up control for that, you know?” he said.

“They kept asking, and asking, and asking, and so I was just very transparent.”

Explaining why he decided to stop appearing in episodes, Jonathan said the editing posed a risk – and that he doesn’t want to be known as a reality TV star.

Reading a note to Netflix producers, he said: ‘Unfortunately, due to the caliber of people involved, unless we have full control over the edits, and due to the inherent risk and the initial Selling the City show on Netflix, no of the partners, nor I thought it would be useful.

‘We are going to make a documentary and photograph these projects and lifestyles in a different way.

“If you can be involved in any way, I’ll let you know.”

He continued, “Again, I think I got everything I needed out of it, right? Like people from all over the world started calling me for all these different companies.

‘I got what I needed from that [and] I don’t want to be known as a reality TV guy.’

Although Jonathan has said no to season two of Owning Manhattan, he claims he is working on a documentary-style show, which is still in the early stages of pre-production.

“It’s going to take a toll on everyone else because we own 51 percent of the production, which means we control what goes to market,” he revealed.

‘And one of the most important rules is that there are no retakes, there are no retakes.’

Now that he’s gone, Jonathan turns his attention to his company, Next Gen Ventures.

He also recently teamed up with real estate mogul Gary Keller, the founder and executive chairman of Keller Williams, the largest real estate company in the world by number of agents.

Jonathan was fired by Ryan Serhant in the season finale of Owning Manhattan after he was caught berating a co-worker on the company’s podcast and tarnishing the company’s reputation at a $10 million real estate showing.

During the showdown, which took place on the rooftop of the Manhattan skyscraper The Edge at Hudson Yards, Ryan said: “You made your mistake with Savannah and the stupid podcast and the use of company resources, you have ego issues and you rub some people in the problems. in the wrong way, but despite all that, I still told everyone, “I still believe in Jonathan.”

“I went through all this nonsense with you, and I was the one who said, ‘Jonathan will make everyone proud, just wait and see.’

Jonathan tried to defend himself during the confrontation, but ultimately his efforts failed.

“I don’t think I’ve been mean to other officers,” he said. “I think I presented myself very, very well.”

He continued, “This sounds cocky, but I am the face of the next generation of this.

“I’m the hardest working agent you’ll ever meet, and I think I know more about the industry than most people. You’ll see.

‘Give me a year and I’ll be number one at Serhant. You will be surprised. You’ll see.’

But Ryan’s mind was made up and he ended the conversation by terminating Jonathan’s employment.

“Here’s the deal,” he said. “I think you’re going to have a huge career, but it just won’t be there.”

Following the dramatic exit, Jonathan claimed to DailyMail.com that he was the mastermind behind his brutal exit, claiming he did it because he wanted to leave Serhant to start his own company and no longer needed the brand.

“The only way I could get out of those contracts was if I made Ryan so angry that he fired me,” he said.

“And the only way I could do that is to say all these things, like; Ryan hadn’t done anything when he was my age, while I was under thirty at Forbes.

“I made my first $100 million my first year in real estate. I was on the cover of Downtown Magazine, I was Rookie of the Year and I won Most Influential Broker at the Broker of the Year Awards.”

Jonathan claimed: ‘I went to Ryan about all this stuff and he got so upset that he fired me on TV – and immediately these contracts were completely void.’
