Viral video resurfaces of Trump discussing Santa with seven-year-old

It was the day before Christmas and MAGA fans all over the internet surfaced a video of newly elected President Donald Trump discussing the existence of Santa Claus with a seven-year-old.

The video of the 78-year-old at the White House on Christmas Eve six years ago went viral after the then-president questioned whether children still believe in Santa Claus.

The video was captured in 2018 during his first term when the 45th president and first lady Melania took calls from children who had called the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to track down Santa Claus.

During one memorable phone call, Trump had a conversation with a little girl named Collman Lloyd in which he asked the question of when children stop believing in Santa Claus.

‘Do you still believe in Santa Claus? Because at seven o’clock it’s marginal, right?’ Trump asked Collman.

As the Trumps prepare to reenter the White House next year, his fans are sharing the video from his first term on social media.

In the video, the Republican president and then-first lady sit between two Christmas trees and decorations in the State Dining Room of the White House, in front of a roaring fire.

After Trump asked the question, Collman’s response was inaudible to the camera, but Trump laughed and smiled.

“Well honey, have a Merry Christmas, and take care of yourself and say hello to your family, okay? Say hello to everyone,” Trump said at the time.

The Post and Courier tracked down the seven-year-old caller in South Carolina, and she told the newspaper she still believes in Santa Claus.

A video of her side of the conversation with Trump showed her saying “yes, sir” in response to the then-president’s question about whether she still believed in Santa Claus.

Collman told the newspaper she was “shocked” when she had a conversation with the president.

Trump’s Christmas Eve phone calls to children might continue into his second term.

Melania Trump shared on social media at the time that helping children track down Santa Claus was becoming one of her favorite traditions.

While Trump supporters viewed the video as an endearing moment, critics wondered how the then-president could somehow ruin a phone call to a child by questioning Santa Claus before Christmas.
