Young family left heartbroken after loving father is electrocuted in freak accident on Christmas Eve

A young family is reeling from the tragic death of a loving father after he was electrocuted while working on an air conditioner on Christmas Eve.

Aaron Greentree died about 10am on Tuesday while working at the property at Jet Place, in Eagle Vale, in Sydney’s south-west.

Emergency services, including paramedics and fire brigades, quickly arrived on the scene, but the young father could not be saved.

The 29-year-old trader is said to have been working in the roof cavity of the house at the time of death. Daily Telegraph reports.

Mr Greentree, who was from Oakdale, is survived by his partner and two young daughters.

A close family friend said Mr Greentree’s family has been shattered by the incident and said it had been difficult to come to terms with his sudden death.

“We can’t even understand this… he was the best father, we are devastated for his girls,” they told the newspaper.

“How do you deliver this news to them, especially at Christmas?

‘He was a beautiful young man. May he rest in peace.’

Forensic officers spent hours removing roof tiles to gain access to the space below in an attempt to recover Mr Greentree’s body.

Several first responders were seen on the roof.

The police had cordoned off the building and on Tuesday a fire truck, police vehicles and ambulance vehicles were parked in front of the house.

Officers were also seen taking pictures of the scene and they also took pictures from Mr Greentree’s work car.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
