Wild video shows ‘UFO’ accelerating instantly as family are left stunned
Footage has emerged of what appears to be a ‘UFO’ hovering in the skies above New Jersey before suddenly accelerating, leaving onlookers speechless.
In a short 13-second clip posted to social media, a white light flashes in the sky before suddenly disappearing.
In the footage, recorded Sunday evening near Atlantic City, family members can be heard talking about what they saw before the object suddenly disappears.
“It just disappeared!” said one. “I just looked at it through the telescope.”
The footage was sent to Tim Janicki by a friend.
‘I was starting to lose interest in these #drones #orbs until I received this video from our friends going out at the Bay tonight. I don’t trust random videos I see on
The images sparked comments online, with many agreeing that what the family saw was extremely unusual.
The video is the latest in a long line of mysterious drone sightings flying over New Jersey and the eastern U.S., sparking speculation and concern about where they came from and why.
‘You can see that he didn’t just disappear, but took off with incredible speed. There is a small flash of light on the left as he leaves. Humans can’t produce the energy needed to go that fast, especially from a stop,” one wrote.

‘Yes, this seems to be a real one again. Exactly what I filmed in Britain. The light dims and moves to the left and up. If you want me to improve it frame by frame, send me the original. I have a lot of experience doing this analysis for my own observation,” added another interested observer.
“Send this to some good professors. They can calculate whether the Earth is moving at all and simply freeze time while the Earth continues to move. I feel like they’re just traveling back in time and staying here to recharge their batteries with our nuclear power and travel further back,” a third suggested.
‘Note: It didn’t disappear, it took off at an impossibly high speed diagonally up and to the left of the frame (about a 10 o’clock angle). Using your own logic, we shouldn’t believe this video,” a fourth added.
‘This is exactly how the orb I saw flew away. That’s why I said nothing can move like that. No flight system we have now can go from idle to warp drive in the blink of an eye. These flight properties are… Far beyond light years beyond us,” said another, fascinated.
Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily banned drone flights in 22 areas of New Jersey and 30 areas of New York, primarily in and around New York City and on Long Island, where critical infrastructure is located.
FAA officials said federal safety agencies have requested the flight restrictions, which are in effect until mid-January.
The FBI, Department of Homeland Security and government agencies have investigated, but officials say nothing has emerged so far any drones have posed a threat to national security or public safety.
A wave of footage of the drones has emerged since they were first spotted last month, including this footage from Bernardsville, New Jersey
Earlier this month, several drones appeared to fly over Randolph, New Jersey
Authorities say many of the drone sightings were actually legal drones, manned aircraft, helicopters and even stars.
President Joe Biden ruled out anything nefarious about the flying objects.
Despite the comments from federal officials, many state and municipal lawmakers have called for stricter rules on who can fly unmanned aircraft — and for the authority to shoot them down.
Dozens of witnesses have reported seeing drones since mid-November statewide, including near the Picatinny Arsenal, a military research and production facility, and above President-elect Donald Trump’s golf course in Bedminster.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, a Democrat, has said federally supplied drone detection equipment has provided little new information.
He declined to describe the equipment other than to say it was powerful and could even take out the drones.
The growing anxiety among some residents is not lost on the Biden administration, which has drawn criticism from Trump for not addressing the matter more aggressively.
Swarms of drones have been seen in New Jersey skies for weeks, prompting officials to call for a ‘limited state of emergency’
In recent months, New Jersey has been plagued by thousands of unexplained drone sightings, while more than 5,000 reports of unusual drone prevalence have been filed with law enforcement authorities.
White House national security spokesman John Kirby said the federal government has not yet identified any risks to public safety or national security.
The federal government has deployed personnel and advanced technology to investigate the reports in New Jersey and other states, and is evaluating every tip reported by citizens, he said.
About 100 of the more than 5,000 drone sightings reported to the FBI in recent weeks were deemed credible enough to warrant more investigation, according to a joint statement from the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Ministry of Defense.
Speculation is rife online, with some expressing concern that the drones could be part of a nefarious plot by foreign agents or clandestine U.S. government operations.
Drone activity earlier this month led to an hours-long closure of runways at New York’s Stewart International Airport, about 60 miles north of Manhattan, a four-hour closure of the airspace around Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, and the arrests of two men in Boston accused by police of flying a drone too close to Logan International Airport.
Trump said he believes the government knows more than it is letting on.
“Let the public know, now. Otherwise, shoot them!!!’ he posted on Truth Social.
U.S. Sen. Andy Kim, a New Jersey Democrat, said he hasn’t heard anything to support the idea that the government is hiding anything. He said a lack of trust in institutions plays a key role in the saga.
‘Nothing I see, nothing I do gives me any impression of that nature. But I understand, some people won’t believe me, right? Because that’s the level of distrust we’re dealing with,” Kim said.
Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut last week called for the drones to be “taken down.”
