Kim Richards evaluated for mental health after she made ‘unusual’ call to the police at sister Kyle’s home

Kim Richards reportedly received a mental health evaluation from police after they responded to an unusual call she made over the weekend.

The reality TV personality, 60, was reportedly visited by local authorities on Sunday afternoon at a home owned by her sister, Kyle Richards.

Los Angeles police responded to a call the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum made about someone taking her cat but returning it.

Per TMZpolice arrived on the scene and while explaining what happened, she reportedly got into a long-winded tone about the problems she was having with her sister Kyle.

The police officers then called for a mental health evaluation team to evaluate her after seeing her behave in that manner, the outlet reported.

Insiders told TMZ that they determined Richards did not meet the criteria for involuntary custody because they felt she did not pose a threat to herself or others.

At the time of the incident, it appeared that Kyle was in Aspen, Colorado with her ex, Mauricio Umansky, and their children on a family trip for the holidays.

Paramedics were also reportedly dispatched, but they quickly left after determining that Richards and no one else required medical transportation to a hospital.

As for her complaint about what happened to her cat, police reportedly took no further action and left.

This comes just months after Richards was placed in a psychiatric prison after local authorities were called following an incident at the Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

In September, the LAPD responded to a call about Richards being incoherent at the scene and refusing to leave when asked.

She was then held in an involuntary 5150 hold, a 72-hour psychiatric hospitalization in the midst of a mental health crisis.

Her half-sister Kathy Hilton shared a message of support after Richards was placed in psychiatric prison.

Later that same month, there was another incident at a home owned by Kyle.

It was reported that Richards was involved in an altercation with her sister Kyle in Encino, where Kyle “owns a house that Kim had recently stayed in.”

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources said Kyle claimed Kim was “in big trouble because of her sobriety” and that their entire family was “concerned about her survival.”

Concerned neighbors called local authorities about Richard’s home.

Both the neighbors and Kyle reportedly wanted Richards removed from the home.

At the time, it was reported that the rest of Richards’ family had cut off contact with her following her “relapse” as they reportedly hoped to get her sober again.

Her struggles with sobriety were previously documented during her time on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In the first season of the reality show, which aired in 2010, Kyle accused her sister of being an alcoholic during a tense altercation.

The following year she went to rehab.

In April 2015, Richards was arrested for public intoxication at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

That same year, she checked into a treatment center in Malibu.

The following year, Richards revealed that her addiction problems began after her divorce from second husband Gregg Davis in 1991.

‘I noticed I was drinking a lot. That’s when my problem started,” she recalls.

In December 2016, she celebrated five years of sobriety.
