Former UFC star suffers broken PENIS in training session – as fighter describes what the ‘absurd pain’ of horror injury feels like

  • Mateus Mendonca won two fights in the Octagon before snapping a three-loss streak
  • This caused him to lose his contract and now sells UFC souvenirs to make some money
  • After sustaining an injury during training, he did not go to the hospital for about a month

Mixed Martial Arts is known for its many dangers, but one unlucky fighter has suffered the most unpleasant injuries during jiu-jitsu training.

Brazilian star Mateus Mendonca is a teammate of former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, who took his impressive record in the sport to 35-10-0 with a decision victory over American Michael Chandler last month.

The 25-year-old looked unstoppable when he first entered the Octagon, edging out Pedro Nobre in 2020 and Ashiek Ajim in 2022 to get off to a perfect start.

But after three sobering defeats on the trot, in the bantamweight and flyweight divisions, ‘Bocao’ was released from his contract with the company.

He recently bounced back from that disappointment with a knee victory over Luan Matheus in 20 seconds, bringing his record in MMA to 11-3.

However, Mendonca has now suffered a setback after breaking his penis midway through a training session in Maranhao, Brazil. MMA fighting reports.

The nasty injury means the fighter will not be able to spar for another two months, after only deciding to go to hospital once a month.

He said: ‘I was training with [a team-mate]and he landed his knee on my penis, and I felt an absurd pain and went to the bathroom.

‘I was in Sao Paulo the other day and my thing looked weird, it looked different, there was a lump in it.

“My girl told me to go to the hospital. They did an ultrasound and told me to go straight to another hospital for emergency surgery.’

The doctors told him the bad news and now Mendonca will have to find alternative ways to make some money as he tries to make a comeback in the UFC.

“The doctor told me not to train or teach for two months,” he said. ‘I have to stay home and do nothing.

‘I can’t teach and train, so I’m giving that away to have some money. I have a little daughter and I took my family to Sao Paulo to train.”

Mendonca sells collectibles on his social media, including his UFC jersey and gloves.

Last week, former UFC star Conor McGregor claimed he was taking on YouTuber Logan Paul in a boxing fight in India, but reports in recent days suggest this is not yet a done deal.

McGregor dismissed speculation that he would fight Georgian-Spanish fighter Ilia Topuria.

‘The rumors of a fight with [Topuria] are false,” McGregor wrote on X on Tuesday.

“I have made preliminary arrangements with the Ambrani family to meet Logan Paul at a boxing exhibition in India. I agreed.

“Then I will seek my return to the Octagon.”
