Hear, hear, this Team Fortress 2 comic is a holiday wonder

For Overwatch And Marvel Rivalsthere was another crazy, character-based hero shooter that gamers loved: Valve’s Teamfort 2. Teamfort 2 is still a relevant game and has maintained a fanbase since its release in 2007. the surprise release of a Teamfort 2 funny, seven years after the last issue, fans online were shocked and delighted.

Number 7 of the ongoing Team Fortress The comic is called “The Days Have Worn Away” and begins with a tribute to Rick May, the Soldier’s voice actor, who tragically passed away in 2020. The art was done by Heather Campbell, an artist at Valve who does excellent work. in humanizing the ridiculous characters that make up the world TF2 form. There’s a scout with a turbulent family, a newlywed soldier who calls his wife a roommate, and a terrifying horror scene with the administrator. There really is something for everyone here.

If you haven’t read the comics yet, I recommend starting from the beginning. The series started in 2013 with “Ring of Fire”and delves deep into the backstory of the main cast and side characters like Miss Pauling. If Valve itself posts it on the Comics page of TeamFortress.com, “Over the years, comics have spawned side characters, and then assistants to the side characters. Companies mentioned in passing became three-generation-old empires. The game that started with a handful of guys in the desert shooting each other slowly grew into the most labyrinthine story in Valve history.”

That’s actually good news, because it means you don’t have to play much of the game itself to understand this new and exciting story. Between the comics and the Meet the Team videos, Teamfort 2 has managed to stick around in the gaming zeitgeist far past its peak. It’s great to see some of these characters get a happy ending after waiting in limbo, and it doesn’t seem like we’ll be getting any more comics.
