Michael Schumacher set to become a grandfather after daughter Gina announces she is pregnant… three months after Formula One legend appeared ‘in public’ at her wedding
- Michael Schumacher’s daughter Gina, 27, is pregnant after her wedding
- She and Iain Bethke tied the knot at the family’s luxury villa in September
- Conflicting reports suggest that F1 legend Michael may or may not have been there
Michael Schumacher is set to become a grandfather after his daughter Gina announced she is pregnant with her husband Iain Bethke’s baby.
Gina shared the news with fans on her Instagram page as she posted photos of a foal standing next to a batch of pink balloons.
“Impatiently awaiting the arrival of our little girl,” she wrote to her 335,000-strong legion of followers.
It comes after she and Bethke married in September at the Schumacher family’s luxury villa in Mallorca, which they bought for £27 million in 2017.
Germany’s BILD reported at the time that it was “very likely” that seven-time world champion Schumacher was present, almost 11 years after his near-fatal skiing crash, although this is disputed.
Gina, 27, is a successful equestrian and has been working with Bethke, who is also a horse lover, since 2017.

Guests at their wedding are said to include Michael’s brother Ralf and his partner Etienne Bosquet-Cassagne, who have fallen out with former ex-wife Cora over her claims she felt ‘stabbed in the heart’ after finding out he became gay earlier this year.
The villa has a landing site and he is regularly flown from the family home on Lake Geneva in Switzerland to the villa in Port d’Andratx.
It is part of a 15,000 square meter estate with two swimming pools, a helipad, a gym and a huge garden with palm trees.
According to the respected Mallorcan daily Ultima Hora, the ceremony lasted about half an hour and by 4pm they said ‘yes, I will’.
A banquet was reportedly held with a live performance by a country music band, although no figures are given for the number of guests.
Early this year it was reported that Gina and her boyfriend would get married over the summer at Villa Yasmin, which the Schumachers bought from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
It remains unclear whether father Schumacher definitely attended the ceremony.
He saw his life changed forever after a tragic accident ten years ago.

F1 legend Michael has not been seen in public since a horror skiing accident in December 2013
After spending more than 15 years skilfully piloting the world’s fastest and most dangerous machines during his career before retiring in good health in 2012 at the age of 43, Schumacher almost lost his life in a freak fall just a year later.
During a family skiing holiday in Meribel he had an accident and fractured his skull, leading to a traumatic brain injury.
After being placed in a medically induced coma, he underwent two brain surgeries, surviving both against all odds, but remaining in critical condition.
In April 2014, doctors began the arduous process of gradually bringing him out of the coma, and in June he was deemed safe to move.
Contrary to reports about his appearance, Johnny Herbert, a close friend of Schumacher, said it was ‘fake news’ that the F1 legend had attended the wedding.
