Georgia Kousoulou shares health update on daughter Gigi after rushing newborn to A&E following terrifying health scare

Georgia Kousoulou has shared a health update about her daughter Gigi after taking her newborn to the emergency room following a terrifying health crisis.

The former TOWIE star, 33, welcomed her second child with husband Tommy Mallet, 31, last month.

Georgia, who also shares son Brody, two, with Tommy, rushed Gigi to hospital after discovering she had bronchitis.

Bronchitis is an inflammation of the airways in the lungs that is usually caused by an infection. Without treatment, it often gets better in about 3 weeks.

Now Georgia has revealed that Gigi is being released from hospital just in time to spend Christmas at home with her family.

Alongside a photo of Georgia cradling her little girl, she wrote: “Time to take you home for Christmas baby girl. After a long stressful week in the hospital, Gigi can go home. Gigi’s bronchitis got worse and she needed oxygen.

‘What I have learned the most is that you should always trust your feelings and if you think things are not going well with your baby, always check them out!

‘Thank you to the nurses and doctors at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow. They were incredible with GIGI.

“Thank you to our family for keeping things going at home with Brody… and our friends for checking in, we love you.”

Georgia also shared a positive update earlier this week, admitting, “Guys, thank you so much for posting about Gigi. She’s doing well, but bronchitis is no joke, it’s terrible. It’s so scary, as you can see, I’m still in my pajamas.

‘My mother is here and Tom’s father is downstairs. I’ve had Tom’s mom here, Brody is off school for Christmas and now I don’t want him to get it. When you have a newborn and a toddler, it’s so hard.

‘I’ve been up all night watching her breathe. If your child has had bronchitis, you know what I’m talking about because they’re gasping for air. It’s not fun, it’s really not fun.’

She added: ‘I’m feeding little and often, constantly checking her temperature and just watching her breathing.

‘Her chest inflated a little as she breathed, but in a mild way. I’m keeping her upright, that’s all you can do.’

It comes after Georgia shared the adorable moment her son Brody met his newborn sister for the first time.

The little boy beamed at Gigi and gave him a thumbs up as he gently rocked her while Gigi wrapped herself warm in a light pink blanket.

Little Gigi had a pink bow on her head and was clearly camera ready as she stuck her tongue out for the photo.

Georgia captioned the touching moment: “This feeling is like no other. Thanks for all the love.”

Georgia shared her happy baby news on Instagram last month, writing, “Introducing you.. GIGI Fordham. Born on 22.11 weighing 8lbs 12. Our sweet girl, we are so in love our hearts could burst. Thank you God for answering our prayers.”

Georgia announced her pregnancy in May, a year after she tragically suffered a miscarriage.

She took to Instagram to announce the news, writing, “Our little rainbow baby is due in December. Words cannot express the emotions we have, we prayed, wished and with a little help it happened..

‘I can’t thank my team enough. Rehan Salim, you are the best IVF specialist – I am so blessed to have met you and Michelle, my wonderful nurse, who helped me every step of the way!

‘These guys made my experience with IVF so much better than I could have done [sic] even thought.

‘I was as scared as all the things I had heard beforehand, but they were just the best and held my hand the whole time. Thank you for giving us the best gift of all.

“To everyone who watches those who suffer… I am with you and I know how you feel. I pray this post doesn’t trigger you. I know how hard it is to see announcements. Please know that you are not alone and please do not lose hope.”

Georgia previously said she will ‘never get over the feeling’ of losing her baby after suffering a devastating miscarriage at 12 weeks.

The star had started therapy after struggling with emotional triggers and feeling “exhausted” by grief.
