Jimmy Bartel threatens to name and shame his neighbourhood Christmas parcel thief: ‘If you steal another one I am posting your photo all over social media’

Former AFL star Jimmy Bartel has threatened to name and shame a nasty parcel thief terrorizing his neighborhood.

Jimmy, 41, made the announcement this week on 3AW Breakfast, where he and co-host Mark Allen were filling in for Ross Stevenson and Russell Howcroft over the summer holidays.

Jimmy revealed that his community had fallen victim to a light-fingered woman who had relieved residents of their home-delivered parcels.

“To the lady, and there are pictures of you traveling around our area because everyone has CCTV, can you stop stealing people’s things from the front door in the run-up to Christmas?” Jimmy asked the cheeky porch pirate.

He added that given the time of year, there would have been an abundance of crops for the thief.

“There are a lot of packages going around because people are obviously shopping online a lot more,” he said.

Jimmy then revealed that he and partner Amelia Shepperd had their own run-in with the Grinch stealing packages.

He revealed that after taking his boys Aston, 8, and Henley, 6, to watch the basketball, the thief entered his garden and started rummaging through boxes, but was confronted by Amelia.

“I took my two boys to watch the NBL, we were 30 yards away [and] within that time she saw us leaving the house and walked straight up our front path trying to sort some boxes,” he said.

‘Luckily they were empty boxes. My partner was still at home and opened the door and said, ‘Excuse me, can I help you?’

Jimmy ended by warning the thief that if the behavior continued, he would inflame her to his 111,000 Instagram followers.

“So if you steal another one I’ll post your picture all over social media, be warned,” Jimmy said sternly.

Jimmy debuted his relationship with Amelia in December 2021, with the announcement also confirming his split from ex-girlfriend Lauren Mand.

The athlete then welcomed his first child, Paloma, with Amelia in April 2023.

A year ago, the former Geelong Cats star announced Paloma’s birth on social media.

In another heartwarming Instagram post, the footy player shared a black and white photo of his new bundle of joy holding his hand.

“Daddy’s little girl is here. Paloma Lucie Bartel, you already have me wrapped around your little fingers,” he captioned the post.

“Amelia, I’m in awe of you. I love you so much. Aston and Henley [his sons] will love you so much.”

Jimmy and Amelia announced they were having a girl during an intimate gender reveal party in October 2022, just a few months after their one-year anniversary.

The father-of-three recently told The Herald Sun before Paloma’s birth that he was ‘scared’ of fathering a daughter.

‘I’m terrified right now. (We’re having) a little girl. My two older sisters only have boys. This is my mother’s 11th grandchild and this is the first girl,” he said.

He added: “A few things are going through my head, how do I do their hair? So, to be honest, I’m a little scared.”

He was also previously married to Nadia Bartel, with whom he shares Aston and Henley.

The couple separated in mid-2019.

Nadia and Jimmy married in February 2014 in a lavish ceremony on the Bellarine Peninsula.

Nadia and Jimmy first met in 2008 while attending the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix. The former Geelong Cats player proposed in Mexico four years later.

Fashionista Nadia, 39, is currently enjoying a high-profile romance with boyfriend Peter Dugmore.
