Ex-NFL star mocks Brock Purdy after 49ers QB gifted his offensive linemen Toyota trucks for Christmas
LeSean McCoy openly wondered why Brock Purdy gifted his offensive linemen Toyota Trucks during the 49ers’ rough season.
Purdy, who helped the Niners reach the Super Bowl last year in his first full season as starting quarterback, surprised the O-line despite their struggles in 2024 with some expensive new wheels.
In a clip released by the team, the 24-year-old is seen walking into a meeting room and telling his teammates the news, before inviting them outside to see their white trucks waiting with red Christmas bows on the hoods.
During Friday’s episode of The Facility Group Chat, McCoy attacked Purdy for giving his linemen a gift despite their failure to protect him from defenses for most of this season.
“When I was playing and guys were doing something for me, I was looking out for my linemen,” McCoy opened the segment. ‘
“All Rollies, honey,” he added, noting how he gifted his teammates with Rolexes.
LeSean McCoy insisted that Brock Purdy should not have gifted his offensive line with trucks

“Here’s what I don’t understand about Purdy, though,” McCoy continued. ‘Respect, because I like what he does, but why are you buying this for these guys? It’s not like they’re blocking for you. It’s not like you’re all doing well. They’re not even doing it right.’
When his fellow panelists insisted that the o-line “still deserves gifts,” McCoy quickly responded, saying, “For what?”
“You’ve been bad all year. If your girlfriend has been bad all year, does she deserve a gift for Christmas?’
So far this season, Purdy has completed 247 of 380 passing attempts for 4,280 yards and 15 touchdowns in 13 games. During their NFC-winning run last year, he completed 308 of 444 passes for 4,280 yards and 31 touchdowns, making it a gamble to get those numbers with three games remaining.
While the Iowa State product has struggled, the 49ers have fallen to the bottom of the NFC West with a 6-8 record.
After the video of Purdy giving gifts to his teammates was released, users on X pointed out that Purdy’s salary in San Francisco is greatly offset by the team’s five starting offensive linemen.
According to Spotrac, the quarterback will earn $934,252 in the 2024 season, while the starting O-line will bring in a whopping $37,651,852, which works out to about $7.5 million each.
McCoy’s fellow panelists highlighted the pay gap and Purdy’s partnership with Toyota, which many assumed made the expensive giveaway possible. Still, he remained adamant that the quarterback should have passed on them.
‘Why do we get presents? You don’t block as well when I don’t play as well,” he repeated. “My stats aren’t that great, we’re not in the play-offs, what are we doing?”
The 49ers still have games against the Dolphins, Lions and Cardinals on their regular season schedule.
