Mel B lashes out at Diddy as she recalls the shock moment he branded her a b****h during on stage altercation

Mel B has lashed out at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as she recalled the shock moment he called her ‘ab***h’ during an on-stage altercation.

In the expanded version of her 2018 memoir, Brutally Honest, the Spice Girl, 49, slammed the controversial rapper’s treatment of her as she tried to rehearse for her presenting stint at the 1998 MOBO Awards.

Mel, who co-hosted the show with American comedian Bill Bellamy, told how Diddy, 55, and his huge entourage refused to leave the stage to let Mel practice as the feisty singer proceeded to confront him.

However, Diddy, who himself performed at the event under his then stage name Puff Daddy, dismissed her complaints before cruelly commenting: ‘Get this b***h off the stage’.

The Wannabe hitmaker wrote in her book: ‘People think I’m so tough, and to some extent I am. I can hold my own against people like Sean ‘P. Diddy’ ‘Puffy’ Combes, who – in 1998, when I was asked to present the MOBO Awards in London – wouldn’t leave the stage to let me start my rehearsals for the show. I had to perform as well as host a show.

‘He had come with a huge entourage and then came across my rehearsal time as the clock was ticking, less than an hour before the doors were due to open. I watched angrily as he said he wanted another run-through. I marched towards him. “No, I have to rehearse my song NOW,” I said.

“He didn’t even look at me, just raised his microphone and said, ‘Get this bitch off the stage.’

Remembering her reaction, Mel continued, “I was livid. This was a British show, and we don’t behave like that here. No one has the right to say that about anyone. I went up and poked him in the shoulder. “What did you say? Get WHAT off the stage?”

“He tried to ignore me, so I said, ‘Listen, I’m introducing you tonight, so I’d be nice if I were you. The doors will open in ten minutes. I have to rehearse. Can you leave for a moment? f**king stage!”

Mel then opened up about how she ultimately got her way before the rapper – who is currently awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges – sent her a gift as an apology.

She said: “I got into my rehearsal, and about half an hour later one of his bouncers showed up in my dressing room with an offering of peace: a jacket with P. Diddy’s name on it. It looked like a bloody cagoule.

“And there’s no way I’m walking around with his name on my back. “Thanks,” I said with a fake smile and tossed it back to the bouncer. I wanted you to message back. No one has the right to treat anyone like that. And a dirty jacket was not an acceptable excuse.”

Following his clash with Scary Spice, Diddy performed at the event, where he also picked up two awards.

Meanwhile, Mel was undeterred by the altercation when she hosted the awards ceremony the following year.

It comes as Diddy has reportedly lost a huge amount of weight and is looking ‘grittier’ – three months after he was jailed on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

The rapper was behind bars in New York City’s notoriously harsh Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting trial.

According to a journalist who attended Wednesday’s proceedings, Combs looked alarmingly thin during the final hearing in his case.

Law and Crime reporter Elizabeth Millner was quoted by Page six After the hearing, he said, “He just seemed amazingly thinner, which is what you would expect (from him) for a few months now in a federal detention center.

‘Very different from the luxurious lifestyle he previously led, but he seemed noticeably thinner and perhaps being in detention is starting to take a toll on him.’

The journalist added that Combs’ appearance was very different from what he looked like in a video that surfaced online of him playing Hacky Sack in Central Park days before he was arrested on September 16, 2024.

She added that the rapper’s hair has also changed, saying, “He seemed a little grayer.”

Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom during Combs’ appearance.

A source close to the jailed Bad Boy Records founder insisted he is “fit, healthy and fully focused on his defense.”

They added: ‘He has been very active, remains cheerful and as always was happy to see his children.’

Page Six added that he also “works out regularly.”

Combs has been denied bail three times while in federal custody.

After a months-long investigation by authorities, he was charged with sex trafficking, extortion and transportation to engage in prostitution – all of which he denies – and a trial date has been set for May 5, 2025.

Combs was placed on suicide watch during his first week in custody but was taken off shortly afterwards, with his lawyer claiming his client was “concentrated and very strong.”
