90 Day Fiancé star ‘Big’ Ed Brown shares his ‘regret’ over how he brutally dumped Liz Woods as he reflects on his ‘bad behavior’ with women and admits: ‘Therapy has saved my life’

90 Day Fiancé star Big Ed has admitted that he feels some “regret” over the way he handled his recent breakup with fiancée Liz Woods, after calling off their wedding behind her back and then telling her the news via text message.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with DailyMail.com, during which he broke down in tears, the reality TV personality – whose real name is Ed Brown – said it was difficult to see his ex ‘upset’.

But Big Ed said he felt he made the right decision to end their tumultuous relationship – and even met Liz’s new boyfriend Jayson, who he described as “really cute.”

When asked whether, in retrospect, he wished he had handled the situation differently, Ed (59) replied: ‘Always. You look back and think, “If I had just done this,” or I think about the time I was in the Philippines with Rose… “If I had just done this.” I think in every situation, with every girl I’ve been with, I always seemed to go backwards.”

Referring to the brutal way he ended the relationship with Liz, he continued: “I’m a big texter so I don’t regret ending the relationship, but I do regret how I dealt with it,” before sharing his thoughts on whether or not he thinks exes can be friends.

The former couple – who first met in 2021 – have exchanged “very light text messages” and even seen each other “a few times” at public appearances, but Ed explained: ‘For me, I really had to cut the cord… just for your own survival.’

“But I get to a place where I met her boyfriend and he’s really cute – of course I was too! But I’m happy for her and I hope she’s happy,” the TLC star added.

When asked if he’s ever considered leaving the show and pursuing a relationship outside the spotlight, Ed revealed: “Yes, absolutely in the last eight months since I broke up with Liz.”

He went on to explain how he learned a lot from the therapy, which he admitted ‘saved’ his life and helped him cope with the fame that comes with being a reality TV star.

‘MMy therapist told me, “Look, relationships are hard enough, let alone being on TV and so on,” he said, before referring to his temporary relationship with Liz.

‘I really thought a lot of the temperaments of our relationship had a lot to do with being in the public eye, but Liz and I actually had some great moments.

“We got to travel the world, well not the world because of COVID, but we got to go to Mexico and almost every state in the United States from Seattle to Chicago, most recently we saw Elton John in Dallas.

‘So we have shared a lot with each other that unfortunately is not seen by the public. But you know what, they only get to see what they get to see.”

When asked if he would choose a woman over his reality TV career, Ed hinted that he might have already met someone new.

‘Well, I’m kind of working on that now. It’s not a choice I had to make, but if I met him I would walk away in a heartbeat,” he claimed, before describing himself as a “hopeless romantic.”

He added: “A lot of great things have happened to me because of the show, and I just hope that somehow – even through my bad behavior – I’ve taught someone that you shouldn’t behave like that. or treating women in general.”

As he looked forward to his 60th birthday next year, Ed decided to share the ‘best lesson’ he learned when it came to the opposite sex, saying: ‘Women want what they can have, and what they can’t have! They want it all!’
