Addison’s mother Brittany Leigh Perkins said on Facebook that her daughter was “released and just discharged and has to attend a concussion clinic two days later.”

“We still have MANY girls and adults out there and they all need a lot of prayer,” she wrote.

A freelance photographer, who was at the game, also shared a photo on Facebook showing the uninjured players from the boys’ and girls’ teams waiting in hospital to see if their teammates would be okay.

The fire department expressed their support on Facebook, writing, “Wayne Fire Dept. would like to extend our prayers to the Wayne Middle School softball team and members of the Wayne community involved in the ballfield today.”
