8BitDo’s Famicom-inspired keyboard is on sale for its lowest price yet

8BitDo, the manufacturer responsible for a wide range of excellent third-party accessories for the Nintendo Switch and other devices, has recently entered the world of mechanical keyboards. Right now, you can grab one of these excellent keyboards for the lowest price ever over at Woot. The 8BitDo mechanical keyboard with a Famicom-inspired theme is currently on sale for $59.99 (was $99.99).

All 8BitDo keyboards are inspired by old-school consoles and PCs such as the Commodore-64, NESand in this case the Famicom, the original name for the NES when it launched in Japan in 1983.

While this keyboard doesn’t come with RGB lighting, its extensive feature list rivals from manufacturers like Keychron, albeit at a fraction of the price. The 8BitDo mechanical keyboard features an aluminum top plate, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, a dedicated volume rocker and hot-swappable switches, alongside a unique PBT keyset in the colors of the eponymous console.

8Bitdo mechanical keyboards also come with an extra peripheral in the form of two comically oversized buttons that plug into the back of the keyboard via a 3.5mm jack. These two enormous buttons, along with the rest of the keyboard, can be reprogrammed with different inputs and assigned to different profiles via the 8BitDo Ultimate software on Android, iOS, Mac, or PC.
