During the Houston Rockets’ away game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday evening, rapper 50 Cent and retired baseball star Alex Rodriguez were on the field.
Both Rodriguez and 50 Cent have close ties to New York. Both also had a vested interest in the Western Conference conflict.
Rodriguez, a former Yankee, is a co-owner of the Timberwolves, while 50 Cent, a native of Queens, New York, has been calling Houston his new hometown for a few years now.
Before the game, while sitting in his courtside seat, 50 Cent was greeted by Rockets’ guard Dillon Brooks.
Queens has been home to the New York Mets throughout the franchise’s existence, while the Yankees play in the Bronx.

The Timberwolves used a strong third quarter to pull away from the Rockets for a 111-90 victory.
Anthony Edwards was the top scorer of the match with 32 points.
The win leaves Minnesota tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for first place in the Western Conference. The Thunder defeated the Toronto Raptors in double overtime on Sunday.
Houston is currently ranked 11th in the Western Conference, one spot below the Play-In tournament qualifying spot.
50 Cent has been courtside at many Rockets games this season, with the team announcing a multi-year partnership with the rapper’s wine and spirits brands Ranson Cognac and Le Chemin du Roi Champagne in 2022.
