The Ghostbusters are back in theaters with Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. The new film, a sequel to the 2021 one Ghostbusters: Afterlife, moves the action from small town Oklahoma back to the old, original Ghostbusters territory, New York City. That means the iconic firehouse headquarters is back, along with quite a few familiar faces, both physical and ghostly.

Does Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire have a post-credits scene?
Kind of. After the first set of credits is over, Frozen realm has a short mid-credits scene to throw in an extra joke. The scene certainly isn’t crucial to the plot, and it’s not much of a sequel tease, but if you want to stay in the Ghostbusters world for an extra minute, this one’s here for you. There are no additional post-credit images.
Will Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire get a sequel?
A third film in this Ghostbusters series hasn’t been greenlit yet and the filmmakers aren’t saying much about it, though director Gil Kenan told Polygon he’d like to keep the franchise in New York for further installments. He has previously said that he “lots of ideas‘ for more installments in the franchise. The only question is whether Frozen realm makes money. Ghostbusters: Afterlife made a solid but not exceptional profit, with worldwide grosses of $200 million on a budget of $75 million. If this movie manages to match or even surpass that, we’ll probably get at least one more ghost hunting adventure with the Spengler family.
Are Bill Murray and the rest of the original Ghostbusters in this movie?
Fear not, fans of the original ’80s Ghostbuster movies: Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), and even Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts) are back for this film, and they all play pretty important roles. They are also joined by the main cast from the previous film, including Mckenna Grace, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Celeste O’Connor, and Logan Kim, as well as a few newcomers from the series such as Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, and James Acaster. In addition to all those actors, there are even a few cameos that longtime fans are sure to see Frozen realm.
Does Frozen Empire bring Harold Ramis back for another ghost cameo?
Luckily not. While the original Ghostbuster Egon Spengler towers over this film and its characters, and his loss is still deeply felt, Frozen realm doesn’t feature a creepy attempt to bring back Harold Ramis with visual effects trickery this time around. Ramis died in 2014, and Afterlife featured both a digital cameo for his character, Egon, and a previously omitted short clip from the 1980s featuring the character. He is completely absent Frozen realmand the movie is better for it.
