This ‘amazing’ hack has become the ultimate travel tip for anyone who wants to pack less and only take carry-on luggage and still have stylish clothes on hand.
The ‘333 method’ was first shared by fashion influencer Rachel Spencer on TikTok, where it became the video-sharing platform’s trendiest travel trick.
You see people only packing three tops, three pairs of pants and three pairs of shoes for their trip.
And not only will the packing guide help jetsetters reduce their luggage, but it will also help fashionistas get the most out of their clothes and get creative when it comes to putting together outfits.

Rachel was the first to bring the trend to life, and many other content creators followed suit.
She captioned the viral clip, which has more than 83,000 views to date: “Guys, have I found the 12/30/30 of getting dressed?”
‘Here’s what you need to do: three pairs of trousers, I have a skirt, a pair of jeans and a pair of leather trousers. Three tops: I have a tank top, a button-up and a cardigan. And three (pairs) of shoes – for me that’s square-toed boots, sneakers and flats,” she explained.
At the end of the video, she showed off the nine outfits she could create based on her choices.
After her clip, people on the app added a new category to the method: accessories.
New York-based Ayesha shared her thoughts on the method and how it helped her with packing.
“I saw a bunch of girls on TikTok doing something called the 333 method, and I wanted to show you my packing strategy,” she said.
‘It’s actually three pairs of trousers, three tops, three (pairs of) shoes. And it’s effective in showing you that you can mix and match anything to create multiple different outfits.

She told the outlet, “The 333 rule helps eliminate the fear of overpacking, while also making sure you look good.”
“An unexpected benefit is that you have an excuse to pick up some stuff along the way – after all, you packed light.”
She added that you should choose pieces that can be dressed up or down.
“Yes, you can dress up, but certain trips may require more formal attire, in which case you may have to break the rules,” she explained.
‘If you use the 333 rule as a basis, you will generally be more aware of how much you pack. Less stuff, less stress and fewer unnecessary baggage fees.’
