2024 Paris Olympics: Andy Murray is back in doubles action with Dan Evans, Simone Biles looks to lead Team USA women to gymnastics gold and Team GB men look to retain Olympic relay crown

The men’s triathlon has been postponed due to – unsurprisingly – concerns over the water quality of the River Seine.

Despite around £1 billion being spent on cleaning up the situation, an inspection at 3.30am found pollution levels were still too high to be safe.

Meanwhile, in Tahiti, surfing has been put on hold for the time being due to ‘bad weather conditions’, affecting the men’s and women’s quarter-finals.

Kudos to Daire Lynch and Philip Doyle, who reached the men’s doubles final on Thursday by beating the number two seed, the United States, by more than a second.

Germany initially led, but are disappointed after dropping out of the race and missing the final.

We wish Nathan Hales, Matthew Coward-Holley and Lucy Hall the best of luck this morning as they compete in the men’s and women’s qualifying events respectively.

Rebecca Wilde and Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne have reached the final of the women’s doubles with a fantastic performance, only losing to Romania.

They will be in the Olympic final on Thursday, having only played together this season.

Since Tokyo hardly anyone has come close to Romania – fantastic work. GB were one of the lowest ranked boats here but upset the odds.
