Rarely has an Olympic pin contained so much love.

When French runner Alice Finot got down on one knee after her Olympic steeplechase race to propose to her boyfriend, she attached a Love is in Paris pin to his shirt.

I told myself that if I could run under nine minutes, knowing that nine is my lucky number and that we have been together for nine years, I would ask him to marry me,” Finot said.

Finot finished fourth on Tuesday in a time of 8 minutes and 58.67 seconds and then ran to the stands, where she found her boyfriend, Spanish triathlete Bruno Martinez.

I don’t like to do things like everyone else, Finot said.

Since he hadn’t done that yet, I thought maybe it was me.
