DENVER — A small plane crashed and landed upside down on a golf course near Denver on Wednesday, but both occupants were able to escape in time, authorities said.
One person with minor injuries did not want to go to the hospital, South Metro Fire Rescue said in a post on the social platform X. The second person suffered no injuries, the company said.
The Cessna 172 crashed shortly after takeoff from Centennial Airport, about 5 miles north of Meridan Golf Club, South Metro Fire Rescue said. It landed near the seventh hole, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the accident, the sheriff’s office and fire department said.
